No it not try to play volks only against Centaur, Crocs, calliope, Shock, airborne, Quads,... just to name a few And yes in my opinion Tanks and Tank destroyers like the Panther and M10 should not be able to threat AT infantry with crash and force retreats with little risk... It is happen to higher lvl players, even with squad armed with Shcreks. Check the final where helpinghans almost loses his Shcreks V.G to Cromwell around minute 17 and 30,5..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us_8AXwqzt4 I would not go as far as completely removing it, at would start by introducing some sort of better counter play against it for infantries. For instance hand help ATG and AT snares could slow or stun a vehicle briefly when used at very close ranges allowing infantries to defend themselves against crushing. In: COH2 Gameplay

It is weaker and it should be weaker. Can really compare a doctrinal weapon upgrade that comes in 2 or 3 for an ammo cost with a weapon that comes in 6 from the start... The issue with Penals is not their DPS close as you can see here compared to Rifles... m1_garand_rifle_rifleman_mp--33.81 21.67 14.03 9.89 8.37 penal_troops_svt_rifle_mp-----35.98 23.66 10.36 6.09 4.67 they out DPS riflemen up to range 10+ while having more HP, costing less and reinforcing cheaper, with a flamer upgrade they probably out DPS even at ranges close to 20... You're trying to change squad that needs nothing more then long range dps boost into a squad that already exists, but would be even worse. No they don't. Osttruppen are defensively oriented and good ONLY in cover and have a target size 15% bigger . Conscript are mobile and good in mid range. Are seriously comparing a 8 squad built of Con with an 8 Squad built of Ost from a economical point of view? For the same price Ostr could have more than 1,5 more squads and they can reinforce for 3/4 of the price... A long DPS increase on Penals would not help allot since their upgrade flamer has a range of 20, so they lose 20% of their long DPS when they upgrade, they are designed to fight at mid and not far... It would also not make more attractive since conscripts have allot more utility. Penals can not replace conscripts as the main line infantry and there is little point going t1 to built 1 or 2 of them. As explain before making Penals attractive is not that easy as long as conscripts have so much utility and Penals have a tech cost. In: COH2 Gameplay

The PPsh upgrade increase the DPS up to range 10 about 4 times so its actually taking long DPS away but giving allot more close DPS in return. And why is that a plus and not a con? Because most Axis infantries are better at long fight then Con and Con have also ourah to close the distance. So instead of mediocre improvement in all ranges, that would offer them no clear advantage in any range, they get a clear advantage in close range where they can win against most axis infantries... On the other hand the G43 only slightly increase the long range DPS of P.F. and the biggest improvement is in close range, spreading their DPS over all ranges... Thompson upgrade and Ppsh make both units very good at close range and are both are extremely cost efficient upgrades... I would rather get 4 Thompson for 90 munition on P.F. then 3 g43 any day... It already 33% more expensive although it is 8.8 less effective. so its actually around 40% more expensive at the price of 35 it would be 55% more expensive and more 64% taking into account the difference in DPS. It would also be extremely more expensive than the Ostheer ST44 at 25 MU...
