USF early game play revolves around Rifles capping the map and harassing the enemy until an officer is teched, and USF support weapons are in a slightly weak spot. Slight increase to Rifle sight range makes outmaneuvering enemy squads early game less dependent on intuition and map knowledge so you can reliably line up flanks and harassment if you have good positioning and quick micro; improving Rifle sight slightly is an indirect buff to the .50 cal and AT gun.
Maybe give RE an 'observation' or 'observation post' upgrade, like...binoculars or an unarmed 50MP outpost with a traversing sight?

I think the universal carrier could be SO much more diverse. Why not dive it other upgrades such as a 2pdr, boys at rifle (make it a sniper just for the tears XD) or a mortar carrier.
I know these upgrades were not widely, if ever used on the western front but I think we are long past the point of caring in that regard.
Nerfing the AEC and buffing the UC will bring much needed diversity and also help reward mobile fighting over the 'simcity' people on here seem to fear so greatly. |
Everyone asking a nerf, and comparing werfer and katty, forget that this units have different roles on the battlefield. Katty is used to kill static ost team weapons and bunkers, and okw inf on retreat to med truck. Werfer is to counter moving inf blobs. Thats why they work different. Both are easy to avoid tbh.

Pzwerfer simply deletes any enemy infantry unit within the radius circle.
The kayusha is only good when used up close or en masse, which is how rocket artillery should be.
Only katyusha is easy to avoid due to delays between barrages and no suppression effect. |
Give AEC a slight nerf (or swap it with valentine or something?) and alter (see:not overnerf Relic) artillery cover.
These are the only issues.

Even if it would be unable to be decrewed, nobody ever would pay fuel for a poor mans emplacement that gets rekt by really any vehicle or an AT squad or a single mortar, or an offmap or onmap arty, or or or...
with the exception of AT squads it SHOULD be countered by everything you just listed......just sayin'
But yeah this is the one unit of the OKW that could do with a buff and I fully support it. |
standard churchill needs a serious buff too. In its current state it just isn't worth it. Hence why no one uses them anymore unless the surrender function has glitched. |
Or reduce the price to 35 fuel as that is all it's currently worth.

As I said, I think the AEC itself shouldn't be nerfed, but its price should be increased.
British early game is tough and can hardly be agressive, so that faction needs a vehicule to compensate that. But it really need to come at the Stuart ot T70 timer, or maybe a little earlier, but definitely not at the 5 minutes mark.
I agree that OKW can deal with the AEC, but Ostheer can only do the same by rushing the T2 which reduces a lot its field presence, which is already quite weak.
When I play Ostheer in 2v2, AECs are a real pain. Me or my ally are forced to rush AT asap (and when I play with randoms, it is not very simple to agree on a common strategy).
Also, even if I don't play 1v1 very often, the AEC is a wider pain in this mode. The Ostheer player cannot make a single mistake within AEC's efficiency time window or it's a defeat, while the British player can.
It is obvious that the AEC should be nerfed, or something buffed in Ostheer's armory to deal with it with more ease.
But however you phrase it, increasing the cost of the AEC is nerfing it.
I think it's a difficult one to balance. I agree that maybe the cost should go up BUT in exchange some of the UKFs side teching needs reducing in price, especially grenades. |
