Thread: How to counter heavy OKW blobs (or blobs in general)10 Oct 2018, 22:07 PM Now I admit to being a 3v3/4v4 scrub. I love the big team games modes so my experiences differ from 1v1 and to a lesser extent 2v2. In one of my more recent games, I was in a 4v4 as USF with 3 UKF teammates vs 4 Ost players. We literally got blobbed to death my panzergrenadiers....it was bizarre. We were winning for a good portion of the game when I think the enemy realised we struggled agianst massed infantry. Our hmgs were always focused by werfers then a blob of Pzgrens backed by brumbars moved in. If we'd had one USSR teammate it would have been a different game with one or two katyusha. It just felt really bizarre to hit a brick wall against such a simple tactic. Any armour was deleted in the first volley by the PzGrens and any attempts to counter with infantry were met with brumbars with werfer fire if we started to deal too much damage. Anyway, I know you were talking about 2v2 and OKW originally so I'll stop now before everyone thinks I'm TOTALLY incompetent. #notsalty In: COH2 Gameplay

When playing with random, it's really difficult to get the coordination required to take down multiple howitzers. Soviet Combined Arms runs out of munitions too fast to be an effective counter if you have to recon and bomb by yourself. I'm not sure there's a good answer to that problem because if you made the doctrine more efficient, then it would be awful to face when playing against an arranged team. Tbh be honest I think no commander should have recon AND and offmap ability together. In: COH2 Balance

I think the MG42 needs toning down slightly, even if that means buffing Grens in exchange. At the moment it is simply so much better than every other MG it's beyond bizarre. And Ullumulu if you don't retreat your Maxim after its been properly flanked then you've just lost a MG XD In: COH2 Balance

Can you rephrase this? @Vipper rocket artillery is a soft counter to howitzers and hard counter to blobs/support weapons. Which is why the non-soviet forces struggle heavily in certain areas. Thread: Partisans (The Commander That should have received a rework)8 Oct 2018, 09:39 AM Jump back to quoted post8 Oct 2018, 08:57 AMullumulu thats the thing: you dont must drop your smg partisans so far behind enemy line that they would die while retreat: they are very good to flank mgs/ mortars and than retreat. mostly like that: drop them from house > throw grenade on teamweapon > kill last model > retreat this need only 3-4sec and give mostly no reaction time for enemy. its to late to realize that. after you lost many thing to tthem...u decide to destroy all houses.... But the problem is that once they lose the initial element of surprise they are pretty much worthless as frontline units. A simple munitions upgrade that can only be done in friendly territory and boosts health/armour would help them stay relevant. In: COH2 Balance
