Power of rifles comes exclusively from picking favourable engagements, flanking and 1v1ing. And even in 2v2 you more often then not fight your opponent face to face with very little room to actually win by out positioning and rifles are only good at that, in fair combat they are garbage for 280MP squad. If anyone thinks riflemen are good in team games they need their head checking. In: COH2 Balance

Although that also applies to every OKW commander minus scavenge and Special Operations. Looking at the abilities they get gives off a Beta vibe, needs one more balance pass before release. Or that is simply an indication of how good USF elite infatry are If you want to talk about Pioneer sight I suggest you start a thread about it since this one is about Pathfinders and howitzers. Both Riflemen and Pio sight range are relevant, please stop trying to levy power or disregard points raised in a discussion with such nonsense. Riflemen are the direct contender for Pathfinders in the USF roster, so they have immense relevance. Pathfinders have a vision bonus, something which is granted for 'free' with the Ost Pioneer squad. But with a LMG42 they are..... Cheap Snare with good range Can build bunkers excellent weapon upgrade rifle grenade (contentious but I think it's fantastic) No side tech required. I'd say that is really good. if you want excellent or specialised infantry then that is available too lol. In: COH2 Gameplay

OST starts with MG42 and Pio which is the most passive and weak starting since many forward elements can absolutely wreck a dismounted MG team or flank it. As such pios have 42 sight to keep MG42 safe and posted. It would be wise to play the game once in a while. Use pio vision bonus. Spot flanking unit. Turn MG42. (remember to 'drag' you mouse so that it sets up in the direction you want) In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: nerf the fking pathfinder and Howitzer19 Oct 2022, 08:14 AM I feel like the slight viability of the Path/Scott combo is offset by: 1. Not offmap call in to destroy artillery/Pak43 2. No rocket artillery 3. The Pathfinder and the Scott are both located within the USF faction, providing a massive nerf as stock due to USF being generally terrible at many things. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Blobbing 'debuff' idea for Coh33 Sep 2022, 09:25 AM I've seen lots of people asking for stat debuffs for blobs over the years. Although I think it would be too heavy handed once you factor in map design and faction differences to simply say 'X amount in units in Y area will induce a 50% aim nerf' or whatever. However, one thing I think would be an excellent idea would be for larger groups of units to generate more noise within the FoW. In the same way you can hear a Goliath trundling through your backlines I think the more units clumped together should have a higher ambient noise projected through the Fow. it could simply be marching boots or special dialogue.
