If so, I still would use wolverine with vehicle crew rather than Archiles with hatch welded.
If you want the ability to self-repair and capture points then I suggest you go for something like Vanguard.
Sadly as much as vehicle/tank crews are a new and unique, novel feature they're also very prone to being abused and exploited as well which is not as easily fixed in my opinion.
Actually I suggested redeployment before, the problem is, even in all units mod, that playing the deployment animation backwards is not possible. I mean all units mod kinda achieves it, but it's quite choppy and doesn't really meet the acceptable bar for the vanila game unfortunately.
Mr. floating MG42 on 250 halftrack is questioning your so called "acceptable bar for the vanilla game".
Being able to move your deployed trucks somehow would be preferable. For most factions your forward buildings will hurt you if destroyed, certainly, but no other faction's forward buildings are /also/ their tech buildings, which means mistaken placement of one of them (Or simply placement of one of them merely outside of your base sector, against some offmaps) can easily cause you to outright lose the game.
OKW have the benefit of "Guaranteed" access to "forward" healing, repair bots, and a flak gun... but this comes at the cost of them being INSANELY punishing if lost (Especially the Schwerer). In the case of the battlegroup, you also either get base healing, OR you get forward healing, it's one or the other.
Agreed.
Mods like All Units already do this as well without much of a problem.
Hell it even eliminates some "exploits" so to speak.
Maybe he means the antenna that rotates with the gun, but is supposed to be attached to the hull. That part looks weird. Also at 9:56 the gun rotates upon toggling, this happens sometimes but I am trying to fix that.
Huh, wait isn't that part of the vanilla model from Relic?
I mean the turret is supposed to turn if you order it to fire it's barrage to the side or something or does it turn the entire hull like in CoH?
Because I swear I've seen it turn it's turret to fire in the vanilla game so I'm guessing it was clipping then as well but I don't think you can do anything about that really.
I meant this. The bracket that's mounted around the gun isn't supposed to move (IRL) but here it does because on this model it's apparently attached to the gun barrel. And it clips into the mantlet when firing because of the recoil. But yeah now that you've mentioned it, the antenna also looks weird when it turns the turret sideways.
No offense but again, very nitpicky when we literally have a floating MG42 on the 250:
Absolutely nobody would notice it unless you zoom all the way in and angle the camera like I've said countless times now.
I know that but do you honestly want me to believe that when you hear Achilles first thing you think of is the 3 inch M10? The only reason it's a Wolverine and not a 17pdr Achilles is relic's laziness to make a different turret.
While a new turret with a bigger counterbalance would be nice is not really needed.
The problem is that we can't just simply replace the 76mm gun with that of the 17 pounder like on the Firefly since we can't edit or add in new models because as you said, Relic.
No proper animations then. The gun / rocket rack support clips into the mantlet in that mod which looks pretty bad.
Alright so I tried it out yesterday and it doesn't seem to do what you say, I'm not sure if you're just played an old version or something but as you can see in my video it looks and works perfectly fine:
I get my first Calliope on the field at 8:30 and zoom in all the way in to view the entire model as well as try out the firing of the main gun, to which I lose it of course and it looks and works fine to me, I see no clipping issues or anything of the sort.
And to be honest I think it's somewhat balanced, you don't get the main gun being able to fire from the get go, you first need to upgrade it and then toggle it and until you toggle it back on you can't fire the barrage which makes sense.
Just needs some tweaks and it could be usable in the game just like with the 250 and it's MG42.
I don't think they even take team game context in consideration when they do the balance patches. Even though 90% of players are team game players(2s,3s,4s).
Yep.
Only the top 10% of people get to call the shots since they're in the very small competitive minority but since they stream 1v1 and so forth matches they rake in all of the money so the game is focused around them.
