I actually had the same idea about the T34/85 and the KV1, however the T-34/85 would be an upgrade, similar to the Sherman 76mm upgrade in CoH.
And of course I'd do the same for the USF, 76mm upgrade.
As far as faction redesign goes however, I'd probably give the British what is in my signature as well as doctrinal tank traps, perhaps replacing the fortifications upgrade in the Advanced Emplacements Regiment, that's about it for the UKF.
For the OKW I'd buff the MG34 a bit to make it actually worth while and make it T0, replace the Raketen with a Pak 38/40 and make it require T1 but keep it in the HQ.
Also give 3 upgrades to the HQ, medical, repair and requisition King Tiger, similar to the panther battlegroup call in for the PE in CoH to add an extra step of calling in the KT so people don't bitch that it's too cheap.
Also give the Schewerer Panzer HQ an unlock upgrade for it's Flak gun, so again people don't bitch about freebies but make all 3 upgrades cost ammo instead of fuel and manpower but of course I wouldn't mind if they stayed the way they are.
Anyhow, I'd also make the salvage either doctrinal or only be able to give you ammo instead of fuel as well, and give the OKW resource caches.
As for the USF, there's little saving it but yeah, replace the M2 60mm mortar with an actual M1 81mm mortar and either make it require T1 or something or stick it in another building, give the USF the T0 M1919A4 MG instead because the .50 cal is just too slow to move and it triggers me how a single guy can carry that big fucking thing like it's nothing, it just doesn't make sense to me. If you want soft vehicle counter you pay for AP bullets like in CoH, that's all.
Also give the USF a meat shield tank like the Sherman Jumbo to actually provide some cover for the fucking Jackson, similar to the British Churchill/Firefly combo, that works wonders compared to the underpowered tanks of the USF, well not really underpowered, more like underarmored but you get what I mean.
Also for the Ost, make a veterancy requirement or upgrade to 5 man squads like the British, having most of your squads be 4 man doesn't really help with getting wiped as other people have noted, and yeah yeah the MG42 upgrade for the Grenadiers adds another 25% boost to their firepower, just nerf it a bit and be done with it, they can't use the blasted thing if they're wiped by a single fucking explosive anyhow. |
If you ask me, and this is just my personal opinion, the only thing that the USF lacks in team games is Armor that can actually take a punch, like a Sherman Jumbo for example, something that can cover for the Jacksons while they blast a way, sort of the same as the British with their Churchill/Firefly combo, you get me?
Of course however I don't rely on infantry as much and I prefer using Armor, but that's perhaps just me. |
What about a UKF Mortar? |
Uhm the Pershing was meant to counter the Panther, not the Tiger so yeah... It shouldn't be compared as a 1:1 to the Tiger since it's not.
It's less armored, faster and has a better gun than the Tiger tho, or at least on paper. |
Rifle, Mechanized and Support/Heavy Cav are my go to-es when USF to be honest, you probably can't go wrong with those.
Well support is as the name suggests meant to support, but I still think that the Calliope is quite useful to have around, as well as the M5. |
"sure it doesn't provide elite infantry"
Airlanding Officer and Commandos aren't they elite infantry? what's the drawback of these 2 squads? Thanks.
Oh sorry I was thinking about Royal Engineers while typing this lol.
I used to roll with Special Weapons before I got Vanguard, but after I got Vanguard I started to rarely use Special Weapons anymore.
However just keep in mind that if you wanna stay mobile Special Weapons will be a better choice in the long run, Vanguard is just more of a bigger scale commander or at least was when I used it so I'm not sure how it performs nowadays. |
Well, in teamgames FOW currently works so that you can see anything that you and your teammates can see. For this I would change it so that each player can see only what his own units can see, and not what the units of your teammates can see.
That is, unless you are in the "commander's mode".
Ah, I wouldn't say the command lag is relevant, and actually could be kind of annoying in game. You would automatically get a "lag", because the commander would have to communicate his ideas first, and the other players would have to implement them then.
The idea is more about having one person that coordinates the team, makes strategic decisions and distributes resources.
Ohhhhh, what YOUR units can only see... So it's a misunderstanding on my part then, sorry. |
I would normally agree with STUG Life and Vipuks but I also think that Vanguard deserves a spot on here, sure it doesn't provide elite infantry, mobile indirect fire and a boost for infantry sections like Mobile assault, or a mobile Forward Assembly, Tank Hunters and whatever else Special Weapons provides but still, having a foward HQ glider that is able to train medics and spawns with an officer and able to train commandos is still a pretty good deal to me, not to mention you still get the Churchill Croc and 2 sort of awesome artillery/air abilities, at least I find them awesome, the air one is kinda situational but eh... better than nothing. And the combined Vehicle/Infantry cap booster is also pretty great, not to mention the repair ability. |
There is already TrueSight in place so I fail to see how... additional TrueSight would work, unless of course I'm missing something or I'm failing to understand you.
And yes if I recall correctly there was a game set in Napoleonic times where you were the general and sat in your little tent way at the back giving orders to runners, which then ran to a formation to give them their orders.
This of course gave out "command lag" as we might say it, but it was pretty realistic in terms of immersion mechanics.
Anyhow, yeah something like in StarCraft 2 where you can see your teammates' camera and stuff like that would be a nice addition here as well or having shared control over units, I agree. |
Certain individuals which I shall not name here have plagued these forums long enough as to have more than a whooping 600 posts all about, you guessed it, Axis bias.
Crying about Allies being OP? Check.
Crying about Axis being UP? Check.
Derailing every topic as to jack off his Axis pickle? Check.
Tell me, what does it take to be such an obvious troll which doesn't get banned?
Such individuals only serve as to clutter posts and draw people into arguments and flame wars, and for what exactly?
I honestly have no idea what the moderation is doing, my posts get invised for the slightest "offense" while said individuals roam around and spew bullshit in bad English all they want.
GG, top kek. |
