The volks are a Frankenstein unit that seem to be a sort of troublesome lynch-pin for OKW and I find it kind of weird that they decided to weaken combined arms for OKW in this way. I like to humbly suggest they be called "Veteran Grendiers" 280 mp, squad lead has Stg, burst fire, other members with mp 40 and a shrecks upgrade. Squad slightly better stats then gernadier. 4 man Looks like a cheaper version of sturmpioneers with shoddier weapons. In: COH2 Balance

Their role was to repair bridges, maintain logistics etc. Interestingly enough, pioneer squads were one of the most trained and well equipped battalions of the war. Pioneer squads were typically equipped with close combat weaponry, flamethrowers, grenades, hollow-charge explosives, and mines for destroying enemy positions. They also had dedicated flamethrower teams, MG teams, and AT weapon teams unlike most other armies that had to call on this support from separate units. In: COH2 Balance
