Four AT USF going M10 Spam on Steppes can be fun to watch, but really annoying to defeat. Especially if they all suddenly decide to rush one player's base after another. They may lose total mapcontrol, but they may win the whole game.
vCoH wasn't great with the veterancy, actually it was quite a puddle garden mess.
If you prefer vCoH, go play vCoH. There is no need to make CoH2 more like vCoH, especially not veterancy, one of the few key areas of CoH2. They're different games, and please keep it that way!
It's a T4 endgame unit, it should perform at least like other T4 units. In live (non patch) it does not even compare to anything, and with a simple HP buff it wouldn't be any better either.
Although I really enjoyed mirages' version - it allows silly strategies of opening with 4 mortars in a 2on2, whilst heavily relying on the teammate to do great. They'll just turbo bombard everything that gets close
