Ffs for all this time OKW could build caches and I left cut offs free because I didn't know it...
Ya know, I would trade caches for gaining literally everything else. |
Won't this mess up with assault grenadiers a bit too much as they need battle phase 2 for their grenades pretty early on?
I love assault grenadiers with all of my heart but they just aren't viable even if you didn't do the fuel changes. No Panzerfaust is suicide now that light vehicles reign supreme. |
A few reasons probably effect why certain things aren't 'fixed" or touched.
The most major one is they had a design idea in mind for British, people bought British BECAUSE of their design idea. Say one day they removed all emplacements from british(give them a mobile mortar, idk a mobile bofors or something). That leads to a lot of angry customers, people didn't "pay" for that, they payed for an emplacement based faction. As annoying or not fun as it is to play against it, they made the decision to make them that way and sell them that way.
Another reason is that it may not make money. Pointless to convince higher ups to fix commanders that are free instead of paid ones. I'm incredibly surprised they are even allowing fixing of a few commanders for each faction at all.
Another reason is I don't think Relic/Sega know exactly what to do with CoH2. They know it can make money, but a sequel may not really be the wisest idea (You all ask for an African campaign but every coh game that introduced british everyone HATES). This game is pretty unstable and the engine is odd. Dawn of War 3 is what they want CoH2 to be like, a platform they can keep building on. But to fully remake this game would be a nightmare and not worth the cost. |
WHAT?????????????
ARE YOU NUTS?????
WHAT GAME ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT DUDE????
panther has no running down capacity, no AI from maing gun and pintle sucks!
This is proof: clich here Your text..
We talking about MG's or crushing? Crushing with the Comet is superior. I just told you the dps of the Panthers mg which is undeniably way higher then the comet. It's harder to crush with the panther sure but not impossible, you can also use combat blitz to increase your crush effectiveness.
In that video a german player blobbed towards a wall. Fun fact did you know any tank can crush really well if troops have no where to run? Even like an IS-2 could of wiped them all out with crush.
Reason crushing can be risky in my opinion is because of AT guns, mines and fausts. What looks like an appealing crush could actually be a trap. Crushing is great otherwise. |
Valid tactics, for sure. The problem is that it is so much work against something that requires no micro to attack, and a single button click to defend. It's just completely disproportionate, high risk (especially the more emplacement types they have) and not very fun.
The micro to mortar his mortar is selecting your mortars and telling them to barrage his. If he isn't microing then his mortars won't auto attack yours if your troops are around. So he would have to micro his mortar pit to mortar your mortar. So you counter by moving and barraging his mortar, so then he stops barraging that position to counter your new position. Sounds like it goes back and forth imo.
Technically some flame stuff barely requires any micro to shutdown British emplacements, like the mortar halftracks flame round straight up destroys emplacements at the click of "Select unit, use round".
I can agree it may not be fun and goes against the nature of the game, but I feel like a lot of stuff isn't "fun". Getting blasted by light vehicles as they dance around your infantry and zerg your base isn't fun. Getting pushed off your fuel point by OKW 30 seconds in isn't fun, building abuse definitely isn't. The way I see it, if more people punished British for doing emplacements we wouldn't see them in the first place.
bofors is different though, that emplacement is in a weird spot where it creates situations that are require "too" much effort to counter. On the same coin, if it dies and a luches(or other vehicle) comes out. The brit player just lost the game. |
early on, attack with flame half track and if he braces, either kill its support, or pull back.
Hit them with ATG, force a brace, use the window to kill some of his inf off.
Use things like flame mortar or flame artillery once the brace is about to wear off.
Its all about forcing him to use it with something, then waiting with a good indirect fire to hit it when its vulnerable.
What this man says is true. Depends on what faction you play. You have to remember if he's investing in mortar pits and sim city, he isn't building much of an army. So when you wipe out his sim city its basically game.
Ostheer: Flamer Halftrack, Mortar Halftrack flame rounds(doct), Two Mortars firing then moving, AT Gun, puma(doct). As he said, the idea is to force him to brace, and after the brace wears off you hit em hard(preferably with fire). I can say that Ostheer probably has the most trouble with sim city of axis factions.
OKW: They have flame nades, Leigs, stealthed AT guns, pumas. OKW also has some insane commander munitions call ins that can wipe sim city off the map. Sim city should never be an issue against OKW. |
I must be missing something about ostheer tech costs? Basically just redistributed the tech costs so that you need to invest more early so your fuel is locked into the upgrade instead of into a piece of armor
The idea seems to be that early game when no tanks can be built, you'll have saved up quite a bit of fuel to tech up to your goal anyways. In the later stages, fuel can be hard to obtain since you obtain it in small chunks and spent most of it earlier on a tank. So you can make small investments until you are able to fully afford a panther upgrade (Without hurting your ability to respond to your opponent by building a T3 tank). |
Sorry if I don't clap to the shitposting
1) it's not that mg's are "CRAZY HURR DURR", the mg's are THE ONLY AI panther has, while Comet can ACTUALLY deal with infantry.
Addiotionally you need to PAY munitions for that dps, while the mg dps is minimal compared to other mg dps (like 50cal pintle or t34 mg's).
And all mg's need to face target to inflict the dps (that get mostly negated by craters at this stage of the game).
2) I'm so sorry allies TD doesn't instapen, really..the lowest dps TD, which happens to be the most expensive, in the whole game, can capitalize on the only thing it has decent, armor, trading so bad with shit accuracy, shit rof, shit damage..that is never ever seen in competitive...it's a shame, nerf moar.
3) It's not only a rof problem, is an accuracy problem, panther misses, and has a low rof, so mention that as result panther has less dps than a su76m in your desperate rant over "the bleed of allies TD".
1. I've used both Comets and Panthers against infantry, and I would take a pintle mounted MG over the comets main gun for damage. Comet is incredibly unreliable against infantry(its nice when it hits though).
Unless I'm wrong, all tanks have 2 "hull" mg's that fire, Some tanks can be upgraded to a third (Ostheer or okw). Without upgrading to a third the following dps is
Comet - 12
T-34/76 - 16
Panther(ost) - 18
Even without the third it does more, add that on and you get 32 dps. Saying "But you have to pay for it!" isn't an argument, all factions have to pay for things. I also hope you aim your tank forward so it fires all of it's MG's, that's kind of the point.
2. You are misconstruing my argument, the point is that you forced your opponent to respond by building a tank detterent, you have inflicted a significant blow to him in that regard. Being only able to "react" to an enemy tank puts you on the backfoot. It's why using/losing an AT gun against a tank can mean GG.
3. Low rate of fire is correlated with it's reload (Practically means the damn thing fires once every 8 seconds) on the other hand, it means you will always penetrate thanks to its high pen and low allied armor. I can see it missing, tanks miss, it's the whole "press stop and fire your tank" strategy most armor have to use. I'd have to see if it misses moreso then other tanks using the stop tactic. |
People seem to forget that a TD can only do one thing, destroy tanks.
Units like the Comet or Panther are different. They can crush, pressure and force infantry away (Which Panther does way better because it's MG's are crazy), and inflict bleed. When your opponent invests in things like, a jackson or a firefly, all it is there to do is to deter tanks. It fires at the Panther and tries to scare it off (God help you if you try to dive a panther with potential teller mines around or paks). The popcap for a TD is basically inflicting bleed on yourself since your just trying to scare off the tank.
Then, you aren't even guaranteed to hit or pen the Panther. A firefly alone would take 30 friggen seconds to kill a panther (if all shots hit and all shots penetrated). The panther has basically run amok during this time especially if it's using cheeky shot blockers. If people complain that the Panther can't reliably destroy tanks, and is too hard to get, that sounds like a reload problem (Which the patch is addressing) and tech/fuel cost. I admit it's a bit odd how brits can get their Comet somewhat sooner then a German player can get a Panther, but the factions have trade offs to one another.
The Jackson buff seems like a necessary evil, it's all USF has non-doct and the only tank USF can use past 20 minutes. If I had a choice I'd like to make it more like the M10 where it has shorter range but can be a monster up close and dives like no tomorrow. The true 'Murica way. |
Soviet changes are nice, I really like using conscripts so it looks like this may bring them back into the fold. The PTRS satchel change is fair. Doesn't seem right penals can do everything with no trade offs. I wonder if the new HMG buffs actually make a difference? It doesn't seem so on paper.
USF is a bit iffy. I hope the callopie isn't overnerfed (From what I saw in the earlier patch preview it became hot garbage). What does the Priest AOE mean? That it got buffed or nerfed? I Like the idea of making Rear Echelons more "support", but I feel assaulting as USF is going to be far more difficult then it used to be, which that's their whole point as a faction.
Brits, trenches feel pointless to make now, brits aren't good at dislodging opponents so why would you give them a free trench in a tug of war game? Smoke on pit is good, just wish it was cheaper/squishier. Firefly being a stationery damage monster fits more with it's design.
OKW Kubel nerf thank god. Forward retreat point nerfs across the board. I don't think people see that the panther itself is pretty good and making it fire faster is the spot it should be buffed, it's just too far out of reach (on ostheer). Why would I tech up to get a panther when I can just save up and call in a Tiger? So far patch is looking good. |
