Conscripts are not in-scope (OST scaling does NOT mean buffing underpowered squads to match that scaling, btw, else you might have seen shocks buffs). In: COH2 Gameplay

If we go for the PTRS-flavoured Penals (especially the ones you've been seeing for 1.3-1.5), their PTRS will not bet gated behind the AT grenade upgrade. This is because: - AT Grenade upgrade is rather expensive - PTRS Penals are already a downgrade for most part, compared to guards; we don't want to make them any worse than that. However, from v1.6, and for a few versions, we will be trialing a PTRS-free version of Penals. The reason locking flamers behind molotovs makes sense is so that you can't rush flamer + scout car and murder everything (without very little consequences). We'll see, though. In: COH2 Gameplay

Considering that you mentioned (in the infiltration unit thread) that the assault rifle upgrade is still too high, I'm wondering why you didn't adjust the price on this their main upgrade, instead of one that isn't even available all the time... Stormtrooper changes were out of scope. However, for some reason, G43 changes (which would mostly affect PGrens) were in-scope. In any case, I would consider Stormtroopers getting the PGren G43 (rather than the Gren G43) more of a bugfix than anything else. PGrens and Stormtroopers are already nearly identical, there was no reason to block Stormtroopers from getting the improved G43. The only downside is that there is exactly one doctrine that has both Stormtroopers and G43's. Ideally, I would like to see Encirclement Storms also get access to the G43 upgrade, to become budget-harassment troops, for when you can't pay for the more-expensive STGs. In: COH2 Gameplay

So, a Wasp can cap a point at Vet3? - is the flame gun neutered while the capture occurs? For the time being all guns are blazing. In WBP, commando sprint has a 25-out-of-combat requirement, after ambush has been bugfixed (long story, but we can't adjust that value). In any case, though, passive, involuntary sprint on a short-range unit is more of a curse than a blessing. Why? Every time you manage to flank something, they usually pack up and /retreat. The thing you usually do in these cases is you "see off" the retreating squad with your squad, trying to keep the enemy squad as close to you as they retreat. However, if your squad is sprinting, they aren't shooting, and if you aren't shooting, you aren't dealing any damage. Thus, if you pull a successful flank, and your sprint kicks in, that basically amounts to nothing. In short, involuntary sprint does more harm than good to short-range units. In: COH2 Gameplay

If you manage to get near enough for the stunshot, you can do an engine-shot instead. Part of the reason stunshot had to go was that it was a no-brainer. The other part was that it was just a better engine shot. In: COH2 Gameplay

It barely scratches mediums even on penetration in the rear from my experience, and buffing penetration to that amount won't really change its effectiveness, as it won't allow it to reliably penetrate anything more than it already does. Higher damage vs tanks = faster veterancy gain. Medium tanks have about 70-90 rear armour, so a value of 75 near is pretty good. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Commandos with WBP.12 Jan 2017, 00:38 AM Note that their ambush bonus has been bugfixed and applies properly now. This makes them pretty damn strong for those 5 seconds. The downside is that you now have to wait for 25 seconds out of combat to be eligible for the ambush bonus. When bugfixing Ambush I gave a provisionary long-duration value, so that the bugfix does not break commandos. Unfortunately, modifying that value is out of scope. On the plus side, you get to see a lot less of random sprinting which kills your moving DPS. In: COH2 Balance
