They are the most efficient starting troops when in cover, the tradeoff being that they suck at attacking fortified positions completely. Their performance shouldn't be toned down simply because Brits lack elite infantry and shitty tommies will cause players to pick vanguard/commando every time and we don't want that. In: COH2 Balance

The british doesn't have any tank snare and their PIAT have difficulty hitting moving vehicles, so logically the AEC is there to cover up the particular weakness. True, but a 6pounder is probably better against most light vehicles (excluding flamer 251 and luchs). This is the problem of the AEC, it's kinda like Penals in the way that its role can be performed by another unit that's better at it. Also for people who don't know what the AEC's cost is: 100 (tech) + 340 = 440 MP. 15 (tech) + 50 = 65 FU OKW Puma costs 320 MP and 70 FU (pretty sure the ost one has the same cost) And Alex logic can't work here, the tech only unlocks the AEC, so it absolutely is included in the cost. Thread: Relic FYI, UKF's emplacements are useless due to ISG's6 Oct 2015, 13:57 PM A single ISG can't kill a mortar emplacement, 2 of them can. Also ISG's range even at vet1 is the same as mortar pit's, so it can definitely fire back. The problem is, 2 ISGs killing it doesn't make much sense. It's supposed to be strong against indirect fire, but as it stands the most prominent counter for a mortar pit is killing it with artillery. In: COH2 Balance

The panther is a "durable tank" with 800HP, the tiger is a durable tank with 1080 Hp. The churchill is ridiculous with 1600Hp because it is basically unkillable and a crutch for shitty players with poor micro to be rewarded with vet anyways. Again one is fine, its when you start to see a bunch of them that you simply cannot do enough damage to them before everything you have is toast. There is no "learning how to deal" with a tank that can take 10 hits from your tank destroyers and AT guns all the while grenading your AT gun and simply outlasting/focusing down your TD's. It does a poor job against p4-level tanks and higher due to bad pen. It's also counetered by 2+ Stugs. A bunch of Churchills also mean that the brit has no way of dealing with heavy armor like the Tiger and the Panther due to high MP cost. Now 1-2 Churchills supported by at guns and Fireflies is another story, but you only meet things like this in team games, and they're supposed to be unbalanced In: COH2 Balance

This comes with a free recon plane that flies around for days. Then find a path that cuts through his army to his ISG. 2. Upgrade pyrotechnics on an infantry section. Sneak up on his ISG and lay down a 25lber barrage. Even if you're forced off, this buys you time to repair your mortar pit safely. This is especially effective if he's positioned next to his medic truck. 3. Call in a commando glider. The plane grants some vision and you can again use the commandos to sneak up on his ISG and decrew it. 4. Use your sniper to sneak up and decrew it, or call in a 25 lber barrage. This has made me think that it may be possible to destroy the ISG outright with PIATS, the .55 cal sniper or the armoured car. I'm going to see if I can get a friend to help me test it later. Alternatuvely. BUILD A SECOND MORE FORWARD MORTAR PIT SO WHILE HE KILLS YOUR MORTAR PIT #1 YOU CAN GET HIM WITH #2. With ~20 Brit games vs OKW I can tell that these are not very viable ways of countering the LeIG. 1. The command vehicle buff is really good, the problem is it's no use when your infantry is suppressed. 2. You can't really "sneak up" on an ISG on small maps and in team games. Furthermore, even a grenade is better at killing ISGs than the 25lber barrage. 3. Commando glider is the only realistic option at killing them... before OKW builds Flak HQ near the guns. 4. Again, "sneaking up" isn't something you do easily. There are also usually 2+ guns, so the sniper has a fair chance of being RNG gibbed. In: COH2 Balance

AEC can also cripple shot without needing vet 1. Choosing the AEC denies you bofors... choosing puma denies you medic truck and a 3rd of the OKW tech tree (for a time). Making it more of an "All-in" option. As I stated in the threadpost, puma is better at everything except 20 fuel cost, and okw trucks are another problem. You also get the potent (although slightly underperforming) flak HT and the best rocket artillery piece in the game with Mech HQ, not to mention resource conversion. It was designed as an all-in option from WFA launch I believe, and its early game performance is overshadowed just by the sheer power of the ISG. I also can't really see how a weak AEC can fix OKW's problems with manpower/viability. you need vet1 for crippling shot btw. In: COH2 Balance

Its fine. Its 20 fuel cheaper... And the AEC costs 120 MP more than Puma on a manpower starved faction. 20 fuel doesn't really justify the massive difference there is between them. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: AEC Armored Car4 Oct 2015, 10:31 AM Costs substantially more than puma, has less speed and acceleration, less infantry dps due to bad coaxial mg, less range, less pen, all the while being an optional upgrade which should be stronger than a basic unit. The only thing it is possibly good at is killing overextended flak HT and flamer 251, and an at gun does that better. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: British Anvil Churchill, and my thoughts.4 Oct 2015, 06:08 AM I believe axis players are just not used to dealing with very durable tanks, and they'll get used to it in time, just like they got used to the Quad (which Relic handled perfectly). It's probably too early to call for massive nerfs, but personally I think the fuel cost should be raised slightly, considering how the Churchill has bad AT and a cruel manpower cost. In: COH2 Balance
