Considering the frequency I see rifle blob/penal blob/IS blob early game, an MG34 behind 1st truck would be extremely useful in punishing such 'builds'. They know an OKW player cannot get an MG out in time without being forced into BGruup (and still late) so attempt to capitalise on a bad design.
I have my own issues with the volkfaust being shorter ranged than the gren one despite coming later and the likelihood you'll be dealing with clown cars/UC being extremely high. I mean sure, the Rak can in theory deal with a fast moving, deadly unit that can effortlessly kite your units. That said, I despise clown cars as a concept, dating back to 'MDvees' in C&C Generals Zero Hour.
I think the Soviet/OKW tech tree both suffer from punishing you by delaying FU for backteching. It incentivises a rush to T4 whilst locking you into a specific route. This might have been addressed in one of the large proposed changes somewhere on the forum already.
Shoot their face off with a light vehicle. They are incredibly nasty AI units and cannot be neglected but they are super expensive to reinforce and ez xp farm for your pz IV/LVs.

Seriously though, they're not really meant for frontline combat duties late game and more for their repair & minesweeping duties. You will be inundated with vehicles badly needing repair.
I checked and the Royal E, SP, RE all do get reduced received accuracy bonuses. Though the pioneer and CE lack anything of the sort. Those two might need a looking at as even a vet III flamer CE/Pio die very very easily.
I'm pretty new to playing OKW and while playing yesterday, I setup a BGHQ out of my base, teched the medics and even set it as the rally point after my schwerer was up. my infantry weren't able to reinforce all the time. at times, nothing was being healing and I had no option to reinforce my troops. And then it would start working again seemily out of nowhere. is there a cooldown on reinforcing at the bghq and I just wasn't aware or does that sound like a bug?
Perhaps the sector the BGruup was in was not in your control? That'll freeze up the reinforcement and maybe the healing.
am i the only one who uses my completely free crews to heal my other armour when needed?
I use my completely free crews to not only heal my other armour but my allies' (Pun intended) armour too. Sometimes it can get them killed because said player rushes the tank out before repairs are finished though.
I still have a grudge against this commander ever since Riflemen flamethrowers and being told 'ISGS WIN THE GAME AGAIN' after stealing flamers off the USF player in a 1v1.
I have found the ZiS to be obnoxious at times but its inaccuracy in the FoW means that moving weapon crews is a surprisingly good counter. Unless of course they roll huge RNG and direct hit in the first shot etc.
Then again I don't really play Ost and usually grab an LeIG and later LeFHs.....kinda amusing when the CB flattens a ZiS crew after a barrage as it IS acting as an artillery unit.
