additionally, brave and daring players can decide to go into snare range at the first minutes of the game with their m3a1 or UC, before any AT is available, risking their LV but winning the engagement if the enemy doesn't follow up on that snare
M3A1 dive only works against OKW as grens have snare at 0:00 and even then not against competent players unless they're sleeping at the wheel. SP will melt your face off and paired volks will swiss cheese it from behind cover. Nvm that you'll get burned so so many times because they did rush that snare unlock. Or you're Artem and running 2 x clown cars for the n000th game and your opponents tailor-make solutions just for you.
Imho UC just gets avoided or shot at from behind heavy cover/buildings until Rak arrives.
As an off-topic, I'll add that it's worth bluffing your opponent sometimes that you have AT snares ready. Eg: Protecting a LV from a PTRS clown car or you have zero muni due to upgrades. Even the action of sending your mainline towards them can spook even the most experienced of players.
I can’t say I consider such units to have accuracy problems, even after watching many hours of stream footage of them being used. Ideally with Panzer IV, you want to stop to take shots rather than fire on the move, even brief movements. Elefant misses are more noticeable because of the huge impact it can have in a shootout, esp vs Allied TDs.
A quick question: My OKW Mate said I should use recon plane or Flare to give him sight so the OKW LeFH can shoot with high accuracy when target is actually visible, is that correct?
I saw that whenever I give him sight then he actually have decent accuracy but I'm not sure if it's luck or really true?
There is a severe Fog of War scatter penalty for every(?) arty piece iirc. Definitely true for fixed howitzers.
Vet 1 m8 has 60 sight, not 55. at vet 1 it gets +20% sight range. 50*1.2 = 60.
The vet 3 +30% is weird, as I've never seen it get that bonus. Could be a typo, could be bug (like sight ranges bonuses not staking).
No, he's right. I used a rak as a range marker and I couldn't see it at all at vet 0, even scooting forward a little bit. Vet I+ had the thing just barely in sight range. Zero sight bonus at vet III.
I don't know if this is calculated from the centre of the vehicle. With grid activated in cheat mode you can see it is only 45 sight range from the front of the M8 and 55 with vet1. This makes scouting pretty dangerous if there are AT-Guns or JPIVs with their own scouting support around.
In the Veterancy guide at this side there is stated a 30% sight increase at Vet3. The guide was last updated at 3th of march in 2021. I can't find a note at the changelog after that date where it got removed, but in the actual game a Vet3 Greyhound has 55 sight range from front of vehicle just as a Vet1 one.
Having 30% sight bonus at Vet3 would make M8 useful in late game actually if you can keep it alive long enough. Finally recon support would have a vehicle that would live up to its name. With about 55 sight I rather use Vet1 55 sight range pathfinders which can cloak on top. A lot more sneaky and durable.
Well that's very strange, odd this missed from the notes? I've gotten to vet III several times and something didn't seem right with the sight range at vet III, thought it was just my imagination. (That and fighting fanatical blobbers taking my attention). Yes I got my data from the vet guide and Serealia. Both appear to be wrong somehow. I went through several years of patch notes but couldn't find anything either. I can see that a 78 sight range vehicle recon might be too much, but 55 is very hard to work with even in the best of situations.
I suppose it's too late now to get it changed, esp with how little recon company/Greyhound gets used and the problems involving regular Paths as is. Would be a very useful scouting unit.
Exactly this is the reaon i dont understand brits need such OP comet tank. there is no weakspot on it. its not this much expansicve, high armor, fast like gocart, KT -like-wiping- gun, smoke, phospor, grenades, super mobil and long range view.
can deal with all targets---combined with pio with nades and equipet with double piats...OP as fu**
I think lategame vs Comets, OKW really comes down to two options:
1. HEAT JP4s/45 sight Panthers
2. KT with mines on the flanks + get Spearhead for bonus sight
3?
Raks will get hard countered by phos and smoke or worse close range grenades. Or just shot to death by Comet spam. Regular Panthers will be shot from FoW, making it very hard to fight back without diving towards them. Vet II+ JP4s can be very dangerous but you'll have to constantly be wary of War Speed and flanking moves.
You need M36 to counter KT not 270MP AT guns. And even then I’ve lost a KT to M1s. That said, never ever try to slug it out with the biggest bruiser in the game without a heavy numbers advantage.
Now here’s some even more incredible RNG AT for you:
