(IMHO) PQ and co have done a nice job with this patch. I never thought I would love a Sherman, but Lend Lease Commander is good - and free!

By introducing changes of that magnitute, it is quite normal that some further patches are required to balance details then. One can ask why these large patches are necessary. I think the answer is that Relic neither had the resources nor the time to implement all that stuff due to the THQ insolvency. The good thing about all these big changes is, that players can be sure that Relic really is going to support COH2 for the next years as they are telling. A company wouldn't invest that many resources into a game that they don't want to continue.

It was disconcerting to hear StephenJF announce today that he would not play the game again until the next patch, after losing to Porygon over Piospam. The current game favours spam, biased towards the German fanbois (how happy KampfgruppenOberst Ping Ping and his acolytes must be!), but Relic have indicated they intend to redress the overbalance.
I hope they do so before Easter. |
SMines are more the problem than pios. M3s are the natural counter to this strat, but S-mines counter those. I like the assault pios. The problem with pios charging cons in cover and winning is the result of the bad conscript DPS at range.
IMHO the M3 should take less damage from S-mines, I think it would be balanced if driving an M3 through the entire field left it at half-health, so every patch you hit takes off an 1/8th or so.
Or just raise the cost of 'S' mines? This strat can probably be easily countered with the correct doctrine + units. viz Penals; Shocks and T35.(IMO)

Guys stop buying them. If you say you hate the DLC but you buy it anyway, you're part of the problem. Relic isn't a multi billion dollar empire like Rockstar or Activision/Blizzard, we can make a difference here if people weren't so fucking weak willed they sell out to get better spot on the ladder. If they want to sell singleplayer or aesthetic content like camos or alternate sound packs, fine. This multiplayer p2w needs to stop.
@NWF They don't deserve the DLC revenue, in the "real world" you get money when you provide a solid product, not because you're such a small company that people buy your shit out of pity. We are consumers, not investors.
