I would gladly take a sight nerf of it for a huge accuracy buff, which that thing desperately needs. |
Lorraine, Duclaire and Wolfheze would work much better than majority of the current map poll in Coh2.
Kinda sucks how the only 2vs2 CoH1 map they remade was the weakest one in there |
Overall the issue with Angoville is that the East forms a box that can be dug into rather easily and be tricky to crack in a lot of circumstances. So any changes to this map would need to make this box less impervious. I'd probably suggest looking at the northern half of it, ie the building cluster and remove one or two there and add in some hedgerows so you can creep around better because right now it is pretty difficult which makes it easy to push out the northern player from the east.
Also a problem for the northern player, the northwestern cutoff is too easily harassed and locked down compared to the similar one in the south. Since the north one is close to the road and hedgerows, the southern one ? Nowhere that easily.
So i think overall what needs to be looked at are the western cutoffs and to an extent the eastern as well, making the southwestern one easier to harass, the northwestern one a bit trickier, and the southwestern one.. hmm, probably a bit harder to lock down from either side. I'd move the house or the point itself.

Nearly all of the ideas here are great.
I would like to see other gamemodes than just VPs and Annihilation. For example capture the flag or SnD and other mainly FPS modes that would work great in RTS... or maybe wouldnt but its worth the try.
Units that buff other units should only buff on unit at a time, but really significantly.
Melee combat.
A draw fire ability where enemy units are automaticaly given an order to attack one of your squads and they have to manually change or stop it.
And this one is a no brainer- let us have control over squad formations and or setup our own |
I understand that OP is playing at the highest level and slight map adjustments may make a difference there. But out of top 100, there are no bad maps, at least not in the current map pool. There are only maps that play in different ways. I would like everybody to keep that in mind as this thread continues.
I hear lots of rumbling about the 1v1 map pool in coh2. Even the maps that were used in design process of the game (kholodny) or whole franchise (agnoville) are being complained about.
Every time it happens, there seems to be somebody trying to force a removal of the map under discussion. Yet it seems that every map has its own group of haters.
So my proposal is as follows: let us first decide which maps are actually good, as right now we are going into the direction of playing one or two maps all the time. And I really think that making the game as boring as it sounds is not worth the slight improval of fairness.
So, before complaining on a map, please give me an example of map that does things right, especially the thing you complain about right now.
Among 1vs1 Arnhem Checkpoint does the cut off balance very well |
Ill start with some 2vs2s
Moscow is the most infamous. Northern cut off along its house should be closer to base and the stone walls in front of the house should be facing the southern direction. Also the sight blocker in front of northern fuels house should be removed.
Road to kharkov already has a thread here
Minsk pocket. Northern bases should be closer to the front, and the garrisons on the flanks strategic point should either be removed or made easier to defend for the north than to attack for the south. Also one of the ammo points should be moved closer to the north, but that may not be needed after the first fix.
Rails and metal is one of the better balanced ones, but the house on left fuel should not have a blind spot. (Or the house on the right fuel should have one too, but that aint a good idea)
Semoisky. The houses from which one can shoot onto the house on the southern fuel have to go.
Camping in the woods. One of the well balanced ones. But the sight blocker in front of the northern fuel house is much more problematic than the southern one. Not sure how to fix this.
Huge thumbs up to Elst Outskirts, Lierneux and Ettelbruck, since i think of any unbalance on these ones.

I actually disagree. Minsk north is even worse IMO. The buildings on the right make it so hard to advance if opponent knows what he is doing.
Yeah, Minsk is another disgrace, but there, you have plenty of blindspots, or you can just go mid and the other flank, while here, its the most essential place of the map bein basically gifted to the attacker |
And what about the northern cut off, which south can easily take and camp, while having their own cut off pretty much protected by map itself.
Langreskaya has the same problem. |
Yeah, this along with Moscow is probably the most unbalanced map.
Not sure if I properly understand the second solution, but the first one is a no brainer |
I don't even agree with a mute button. If someone is being abusive just drop or ignore them. I think a mute button would destroy cooperation in random team games.
Cant destroy somethin that doesnt exist |
