With the matchup i have to disagree, in my opinion it is more as fair. Ivan as NA winner and Hans also as a amazing 1v1 and 2v2 plaer should be on one level. But beside that there is sometimes games that just go wrong for you, i also struggel from time to time
Von seems really good in 1v1 because of his excellent map and VP control (which is slightly different flavour from 2v2 map control which is more engagement-focused) and his novel strats e.g. maxim spam + AT partisan combo or his recent assgren spam vs. paul in last week's ESL. Hans is definitely the better 2v2 player from his random ranks. However putting two top 10 1v1 players does not necessarily mean top 10 AT 2v2. Likewise Von and Hans could have beaten both of the Axis players in 1v1 easily. You can play 2v2s like 1v1s on two sides of the map, but the best teams coordinate doctrines and pushes.
Yes, I absolutely agree with you that performance on the day is what counts and any top player could have a bad day, but on paper the Axis team (top 10) should have won no problem. Therefore it begs the question: what's the point of uploading this replay besides showing off if 1) ~20 min game 2) Von and Hans maybe had bad day 3) Axis team higher ranked?
