I have sent replays to relic.
Being in agreement with OnkelSam, would you be so kind as to inform us if and when Relic has replied to you? |
Haha I figured just as much. Pretty much nullifies every single of his posts
And then he is under the impression that people make fake accounts just to argue with him?
Dare I take it even further?
I think he is making fake accounts to argue with his real account, whereupon he accuses his fake accounts to be fake to win the argument. Solid strategy I must say. All things aside, he is an entertaining guy and I cannot wait until I can add another brilliant quote to my signature. |
It shows that in August there were 5500+ players each Sunday, Suggesting that they are returning players, so the estimate of 5500+ active players is perfectly correct.
Again, these are peak numbers, rather than a daily average. The monthly average number of players is the best figure to base your estimate on, as it is not biased towards peak numbers and shows a long term trend. The average number of players last month was 3520, which is quite far off 5500+. |
Yesterday, there were more users playing COH2 than most of August, if anything the chart shows that the user base has leveled out around 5500 - 6000.
I think we may see a small rise since the holidays are now over.
The graph itself shows the peak number of players per day, not the average.
The long term trend shows a steady decline over a 3 month horizon: http://steamcharts.com/app/231430#3m. The average number of players per month in July and August was, respectively, 5702 and 3520. Your prediction of 5500-6000 seems quite high. |
Speak of the devil...
This is Nullist:

Do not worry, he does not actually play CoH2, or has not in weeks/months. This is why he is most definately in the top5 of biggest trolls on this forum. |
I am not surprised he responded to a post regarding homosexual sex. |
MadrRasha- I guess I didn't make it clear, but I wasn't thinking about tournaments with livestreaming and casting and prizes and such- more like a friendly organized event. There's no real way to filter out the properly good players without an ELO rating, but I'd like to think there would be a way around that especially since no prizes would discourage anyone in it 'for the money', so to speak.
If there is no livestreaming, casting and prices involved, then why not just automatch instead of a tournament, as it is supposed to match you up with an equal opponent. |
An opponent drophacked me the other day (after he apologized for it in advance...). I send an email to info@relic.com, but have not heard from them yet. Although, I could not provide the replay, since I did not assume a drophack nor had auto-save replays on. |
I'll use mortars as an example. If they have a 10% (idk what it is, just an example) of landing a critical hit, every single round fired has an equal probability of criting.
Every independently fired round has an equal probability, yet the probability of a lot of consecutive misses is quite small. If the probability of landing a critical hit is in fact normally distributed, you should not worry about your mortar being ineffective over a fair amount of time.
A positively skewed distribution would enhance mortar prefire, thereby making it very risky to micro away from a mortar zone, since only the owner of the mortar knows its implied probability of landing a critical hit. |
