Absolutely. You start with 20 fuel - if you tech T1, you have to wait for a whole 10 more fuel to tech T2. Maxims and snipers can be a thing. |
Axis fanboys qq, I guess?
Ahh, come on though. Think of how much better your micro is gonna be now that you have to actually, you know... do it. |
lol of all the things to shake our fists at, we're gonna piss and moan about portrait art?
Is it really "disturbing"?
Rifles and Conscripts that scale into the late game.

I apologize in advance if I'm making a fool of myself stating something that's been known, something that's totally common knowledge, but... did everyone know you can use the Captain to "Supervise" and speed up the Major teching phase? I knew naturally it could be used to speed up construction of units, and it works beautifully when you're trying to get the Stuart out as fast as possible, or get 2 57mm AT Guns back to back.
But yeah, if you click on Major and supervise the structure, you Major hits the field in less than 10 seconds. I don't know much tactical flexibility this lends anyone, since you typically are clicking on "Major" when you have exactly 120 fuel, and you're then left waiting until you have enough fuel to roll out a Sherman or Jackson, but I suppose if someone is late teching, needs a Sherman or Scott or Jackson NOW and has excess fuel, you can Supervise the Major, get T4 in a matter of seconds, and get your unit out almost immediately.
I searched here and elsewhere for any discussion of this and came up short, which either means it's not known or everyone knows about it already and it's not a big deal.

I have read the next balance patch notes and I lol...
Relic says they want to increase the viability of light vehicle combat. So the T70/M5/SU76 will come out earlier than before by 40 fuel. And they increases OSTHEER Building 3 and Building 4 fuel cost(Stug and Pz4 will be late), then decreases USF T3 building cost(quick STUAT).
So the first T70 needs only 50+80+75-50=155 fuel cost the next patch. (Don't forget 50 fuel is given to soviet at the starting of the game.)
The first STUAT needs only 60+80-40=100 fuel. (Dont't forget 40 fuel is given at the starting.)
Then what does the Ostheer have that time? 222 and 251 will be the designed counters ??? LOL...
You wanna balance the game? Nope, you are destroying the game. You want people to build more light vehicles? Nope, OST players will never build 222 and 251 the next patch, because they must build pak40s (320 MP) first... Then make a quick StugIII or Pz4 to counter the allies light vehicles.
T70s are coming the next patch. Don't forget the Soviet Industry commander... As an ostheer player, I will never play ost the next patch...
Pretty sure the math is off on this. USF don't start with 40 fuel. |
Overall very happy with and excited for these changes.
At first, I thought the changes to the T34/76 might've put it in an awkward place, being that it's neither as good against infantry as the T70 nor as potent against armor as the SU76 (both now T3 and available much sooner).
However, being able to spend 80 fuel late game on a quick, cheap tank that can flank and ram while your SU76/ZIS/SU85s hold the line... This could work. I'd have preferred a more expensive T34/76 that performed better (maybe 150% health, revert to its original faster rate of fire, 350/125 or so cost), but eh, wadda ya gonna do.
I guess we'll see. Also super stoked for the USF changes; early captain, BAR/Zook mixes, Pack How being affordable. Hnnnngh. |
If you've been on the receiving end of Captain whose bazookas did enough work against your infantry that it was worth bringing up here, you've had some pretty shit luck. |
