Tip for axis players vs brits: "just flank it, clearly a l2p issue"
don't forget to pop smoke. haha |
Me and my buddy play 4 vs 4s alot and no matter what country I pick, no matter what slot I choose - it rarely ever puts us on the same side of the map.
Is there any way to increase chances to be sided with him? Or am I just shit out of luck? |
I don't think you can give any unit Thompsons off the bat unless they're really expensive MP-wise or toned down as they deal a ton of damage within their intended range.
Why not? Sturmpios come with ARs that absolutely SHRED infantry at close range and they come stock and in the first 60 seconds of a game? Panzergrens come stock with ARs and can be upgradeable with anti tank capabilities that absolutely annihilate allied tanks.
And if you're right, that's fine, you then gave a good answer to the problem. Give us rangers with stock thompsons, but also make their manppwer cost equal to the damage that they can deal. Hell, charge me 500 manpower (joking) - I don't even care! Lol. Just give me something else to use other than riflemen!
There should be absolutely no reason why the USF can't have an infantry squad come on the map (sort of) late game and be immediately powerful at close range engagements. |
Some valid points. But some things to consider:
-What do we (or should we) expect out of a Ranger squad unit? An uber version of paratroopers or a specialized unit with different roles and expectations? SHould they be geared more for anti-tank duties or just a Ober clone?
-Doctrinal or non-doc? I personally think it being doctrinal is more or less a no-brainer, given CoH1, Fox Company and the fact that adding new non-doctrinal units would quite obviously cause a balance nightmare.
-Unit roles: IMO anti-tank and scouting capability of USF is a bit lean, so I think Rangers ought to fill one or more roles that expand on these.
-Combat roles: More or less ideal for short-ranged, seeing as every other short-ranged option is both doctrinal and restricted to specific units (vehicle crews, paratroopers). We already have Riflemen for the long-medium range fighting, so it's hardly outrageous to suggest a unit call-in with short-range firepower as their forte.
Stock Thompsons and have the ability to upgrade to recoiless rifles for an anti tank capablity. Think of them like a panzergren squad...almost. Also, give them a hand grenade that isn't worth shit like the normal riflemen grenade. Maybe give them a satchel, or something. I didn't put much thought into this (lol); i don't make games nor do I handle balancing of said games. But with that being said, I find what I just said (or something similar) to be incredibly reasonable to ask for. |
I mainly play USF, so maybe I am somewhat biased here...but I am seriously curious how someone can argue against and/or be entirely opposed to the USF getting an extra infantry unit to mess around with. It's actually hilarious to me. But then again, I laugh a lot - so who knows.
Anyways, all we have is riflemen! That's it! Every other faction has variety and different units with different abilities - and we get riflemen (and paras/pathfinders) but with that, you're basically telling me I have to strictly play ONE commander (airborne) everytime if I want a single ounce of variety in the units I can build? Come on, man.
We aren't asking for much here. Lol. We aren't asking for a unit that can go invisible and launch rockets out of their ass. We are just asking for an elite infantry squad that can go toe to toe with German infantry and not bleed manpower like a severed artery.
/end rant. Lol. |
Been playing a bit of OKW of late and since SU-76 was moved to T3, it has been spammed a lot.
I get prior to July 21st SU-76s were very underplayed and it may be able to work at tier 3, but I'm not complaining about that. (Definitely strong for Soviets)
I'm complaining about the ridiculous Penn the SU-76 has. When I try to send a Panther against SU-76 packs, they seem to cut through the armour like butter.
I just find it ridiculous that a low velocity 76mm she'll can go through a Panther frontally.
Any thoughts on this? I'd like to see how you Axis players handle SU-76s
Oh my goodness, the humanity!!!! An allied tank that can actually kill a German tank, this needs a nerf immediately!!!!
/sarcasm
All kidding aside, I agree man. The SU/76 can hit with the best of them and does come at a very affordable price for it's usefulness against tanks. However, try hitting it with a shrek...or two...and you won't be saying how powerful it us anymore - because it will be dead. Lol. Let the allies have this one for a little...we struggle enough as is penetrating German armor - please don't take this away from us. . |
It would come down to an argument whether the real idea is in the title or something in the post. In the end YOU might be wrong, maybe the headline was the correct info after all. All it takes is another "just kidding" to turn it all around.
I'm OP. The title was a joke...meant to piss off all of the axis loving fanboys (not my best idea lol). HOWEVER, USF is lacking a little and rifleman bore me...so I wanted to ask if Relic planned on adding any additional units so I could actually not be forced into building riflemen like they're on sale or something. Lol. |
OKW and USF have been waiting so long for new content at this point I think Relic probably isn't going to ever add any new stuff for either faction since they have been spending their time working on Brits and they are going to be working on an entirely new game soon.
Thank you! That's what I was wondering. It's saddening to hear...but understandable all the same. Thanks man. |
You may request a change to the thread title if you wish so.
I dont know how. Lol. But you have my verbal consent to do as you please kind sir. |
USF meta encourages blobbing, blob counters are now really common. What USF is going through is what OKW went threw after the Ober/Shrek nerf.
Like Iv yet to face a top 200 USF player who didn't eventually just blob a huge army of Para's with LMG's or rifles with LMG's or BAR's + some zooks sprinkled in across the map killing enemy infantry in like 2 seconds before his army eventually gets evaporated by a Sturmtiger or he runs into an MG wall.
Meta shifts suck, they require you to relearn the game essentially and USF meta has been stale for so long that I think people are having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that USF as a faction is gimmicky as hell and said gimmicks make it boring to play and fucking awful to play against.
Hopefully Relic will eventually learn with USF what they did with OKW and do some redesigning to make things more interesting.
Not entirely sure what context the word "meta" us being used in...or what it means, but you sound like you know what you're talking about. Lol.
I agree! USF bores the hell out of me. All balance issues aside, it's just boring. I can't count how many games I play where it turns out exactly like you described.
So, I assume no additional units will be added come September 3rd? |
