Simply because of the often wipes of axis infantry. Unit preservation is never rewarded but often punished due to the units I mentioned above. Besides Brummbar, and strum tiger, generally speaking, there aren't much other axis tanks that just completely squad wipe off 1 shot as much as the Allied counterpart. It's bullshit and cheesy. That's why I see the same shit in every game Walking Stuka and Pwerf are just as common and good at wiping squads as the LM and Calli each have their ups and downs, as for the other comment, well: King Tiger Vet 1 Jag Tiger Brummbar Sturm Tiger AVRE Bulldozer KV 2 ISU Pershing All capable of one shotting squads with relative ease whereas the Cromwell, P4, Sherman etc can all one shot too if the models bunch up badly... Thompson are weapon upgrades and not default weapons and thus they over-perform especially at mid. Use the shock PPsh as reference and you will see that commando stens are fine. The stens are not 'fine' due to the broken ambush modifier in live, it and they are fixed in WBP and makes ambush very lethal. You just have to get in the enemies face to use them, I love using them as they allow you to be really sneaky and get in a lot of wipes, anything above close range and I don't bother with the engagement which is, I suppose, how they should be. Have you never had a vehicle base dive with your MG reinforcing/healing, only to have it set up and fire at the tank? I could be wrong here but I'm fairly certain if you que order to capture a point and then retreat with an MG squad, if an enemy catches them the MG will set up and cancel the retreat order. I don't think you understand the term QOL if your solution to MG's setting up when an enemy jumps into the house you were just about to enter is "Que up 3 shift orders in-case the enemy gets the house" In: COH2 Balance
Thread: QOL/Bugs I've noticed24 Jan 2017, 18:03 PM Machine Gun: If you tell an MG to go into a house that is empty and an enemy gets in it before the MG, it will auto setup. That is unstoppable and can often result in an MG wipe if you are not quick to retreat, at which point the MG has to finish setting up, pack up, then retreat. Easy to abuse if you know about the issue. I believe (I may be wrong) that if you have an MG stationary (not set up) and they encounter an enemy, the MG will automatically set up too, and due to the way the AI sucks at predicting enemy movement, it will do so poorly. Anyway to not set up the MG unless specifically told to do so via A-move or holding down RMB to set the facing? Garrisoned units: If you have a unit inside a house selected, if they lose 1 model the selection will be switched to the house, this becomes a HUGE pain if you are trying to evac a squad but they drop several models in a row. Reinforcing: I already spoke about this in a previous thread and Mr. Smith pointed out one cause but for ease of reference I will place it here too. If you are reinforcing a squad and tell them to garrison a unit whilst still being reinforced, the unit will not spawn until the garrison order is stopped. Grenade death loop: This is more of a bug than QOL and might not even be considered either by some. If you throw a grenade but the thrower dies before they can get it off the animation will start over on a new model, this is especially frustrating for long wind up grenades but it can happen to all squads including the rather fast throwing commandos. The reason I see this as a bug is due to AT snares being launched if the order is set up and the squad member using the snare dies. Either this is a bug or that is. In: COH2 Balance

Trenches in current form are stupid as fuck, they are 5 x times harder to destroy with raketen or pak, not to mention raketen is really bad counter since vickers in trench can outrange it... If only you could approach them from the side and throw in a flame grenade into the trench to clear it, that would make clearing the trench much easier wouldn't it.... In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Weapon Drops23 Jan 2017, 15:29 PM Is this purely random or are there certain factors that can increase/decrease the chances? From my experience the highest to the lowest squad chances to drop weapons are as follows: Tommie (2x weapons) Riflemen (2x weapons) Pgrens (2x shrecks) Sturms (1x shreck) Grens (1x LMG) From that (even though its a slight observation (confirmation bias?) and not fact) we can assume that having more of something ups the chance of a drop... But why have I NEVER seen an STG drop from Volks/Obers/Storms? Brens drop like pinatas even on a 5 man squad, it just seems so... stupid that they drop before the squad is wiped, what gets me even further is that say you have a 4 man squad with 2x weapons, 1 weapon is dropped and you have 1 man left (holding onto that 1 weapon) he can then pick up the dropped weapon... How does this work? Least I'm sure they can unless memory fails me. Is this ever going to be fixed? In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Firefly22 Jan 2017, 20:28 PM Depends how the game is going, if I am winning, a fast Cromwell is a must, if I'm fighting OKW the next tank is a Firefly, if OST its either another Cromwell or a FF, then it will either be another Cromwell or tech and build a Comet. 2 x Comet/Cromwell 1 x Firefly Is my usual tank army but that can be a lot of micro especially if you have several squads too. Thread: Firefly20 Jan 2017, 08:41 AM Always get one, simple as that a vet 3 FF is no joke and it's tulips can turn engagements even against a KT. Skip to 40:00 in this video: https://www.twitch.tv/tightropexilo/v/115545563 I dive my Comet at his KT and block its pathing whilst using the FF to pen the KT at max range mind you via its frontal armour. Use the FF as a sniper, it needs a lot of babysitting though as its turret rotation is very slow. I see a lot of people using it to snipe at infantry when there are no tank engagements going on, DON'T do that, not only is it ineffective, gives next to no exp it simply says "Here I am" so you can easily get caught off guard. Build it, hide it and make sure its reveal is a surprise and you can almost guarantee a first engagement victory. Don't get it as your first tank though mind you, obviously if its 2v2+ then this 'rule' can be bent, but in 1v1's, you need at least a Cromwell out first to start bleeding your opponent and to eventually, get the block move off on tanks. A lot of people say Churchill + FF is good and whilst the Churchill does soak a lot of damage, it gives a lot of vet, so unless you want to go against vet 3-5 tanks pretty quickly, I would avoid the Churchill route until it hopefully get an armour buff so its not so easily penetrated. The comet compliments the FF really well and better than the Churchill currently as a result of its speed and armour, but don't expect the comet to stay as it is stat-wise for very long.
