Relic has stated Side Armor and Different reverse accelerations are not actually possible.
And changing frontal armour, if necessary, is. Etc, etc. |
I'd say to just to stick with removing Blitzkrieg from it first. Probably 99% of any problems with it lie there, because it NASCARing into your lines' vulnerable areas (or just reversing out) is eminently ridiculous. The rest of it might not be so intolerable without that.
Why shouldn´t it? Historically its frontal armor was almost impervious.
It needs the frontal armor. If it goes back to the stage it was pre-patch, nobody is going to build it again. Smart Panther usage should be rewarded. And currently it is like this. No need to change it.
German players who keep their Panther at range, facing the frontal armor to the enemy should win.
I'd imagine anyone who wants that is figuring that for the same reasons the Panther in-game allohistorically has no side armour and has six more gears in reverse. |
The AOE is fine, you think one shots should be more prevalent? The only thing a unit like this deserves is a cost decrease, and a range increase or fire rate increase. Anything above 4 AOE nowadays is pretty good one shot material.
It needs an accuracy increase at far-range long before it'll need a range increase. I've never seen it hit anything at max range. |
I actually got the idea from the Commissar that sticks his head out of the KV2 when it's not in combat.
Drive him closer, he wants to hit them with his sword. |
Also economic manipulation from blitz oil trucks, Luftwaffe supply drops and supply caches affecting allies have completely murdered 3v3 and 4v4 balance since the game came out. I remember people wanted it changed, change didn't come, we got used to it and forgot to complain about it, 2 years later its still here.
They fixed the Opel Blitzes, actually. Now they only give resources to the player owning it.
The rest are still dumb and prevent me from touching big team games ever. |
This is true, but in larger games CmP can buff other CmP. The horror...the horror.
*Shudders*
Fair point.
I hope those things at least can't stack... |
I am not complaining that the CmP ability is too good (though it is very good) I am complaining that in larger games a unit designed to buff only your own armor is too effective because it helps everyone.
Yeah, from my experience in RTSes, it seems an aura has to be really crappy to not be amazing in scenarios with plenty of targets to benefit from it. The examples of auras of a more minor degree are hard to notice, but the math tends to simply say that they'll be amazing. |
Same armor, might have different acc on the move. Edit (someone said it)
@Alex: vet is basically the same besides last levels.
Vet0: Aura 20 sight range, +10% speed +10% ac/de-celeration
Vet1: Unlocks the 'Combat Blitz' ability
Vet2: +10% armour, +20% health +10% weapon rotation speed Aura: +20% accuracy
Vet3: -10% reload, +10% rotation speed +10% ac/de-celeration Aura: -20% reload
Vet4: Aura: +5 range
Vet5: Aura: Infantry affected too
Vet1: Unlocks the 'Combat Blitz' ability
Vet2: +10% armour, +20% health, +40% weapon rotation speed
Vet3: -30% reload, +20% rotation speed, +30% ac/de-celeration
Vet4: +10% range -25% scatter
Vet5: +53.85% accuracy on the move, +45.8% sight range
The Command Panther isn't affected by its own aura though right? So the -20% reload that went into the aura is still a pretty legitimate difference between the it and the base one? |
It's like there's a party in the arty units and everyone's invited! |
Thank you very much everyone, good stuff my brain yearned for.
There is a reason that there was a German joke:
To figure out who you faced shoot a round in their direction.
If they respond immediately with accurate rifle and Bren fire you are facing the Brits.
If the response is a fusilade of rifle and smg fire, they are Russians.
If they are American there will be silence for a few minutes and then your entire position will be obliterated with artillery or an air strike.
If I am an infantryman... I want to be a US infantryman. With a radio.
This one of the reasons inciting the question to be kicking around in my head. |
