So we can safely agree that "if" HP is based on weight in this game then KV-1,8,2 should have more health than the IS-2 because KV-1 = 47.5 t while IS-2 was 46 tonns
Also KV tanks were used almost throughout the whole war from 40-44
Maybe, could be, there are other factors... I'm not 100% sure on game stats or history stats.
KV tanks may have been used throughout the war but they were getting superceeded by IS series tanks. But well, if it shoots and still works, then it still can be used, why waste resources?
I mean the Russians were even using artillery pieces from the 1800s to raid fortified cities. |

There are people here who have much more experience than you in 1v1 complaining about the KV-8 balance. You're L2P comment isn't justified. You give no reasons why it's balanced. Flame damage is too powerful and it will be adjusted in the future.
Flames in general are strong, especially against garrison. This patch has pretty much been an anti-garrison patch.
Reasons I've seen as to why its imba is because ppl complain about Sovs being able to bring IS-2 into the fray along with a KV-8 vs one Pz-4 and comparing incomparable stuff... Most of the complaints I've seen in this thread look more like "I've lost a game against the KV-8" rather than "This thing is actually imbalanced".
Well.... KV-8 is balanced because its terrible against armour but really strong against infantry as it should be, esp considering how late it comes.
Also... Mines, Pak walls, jgpz 4 are good hardcounters to KV-8 spam, esp in corridor maps, even if you don't have P4s at the time, all which are available well before the KV-8 is, so I don't really see any problem with the KV-8 atm...
If you suspect a KV-8 is coming.... build counters.... foresight is essential in an RTS. |
USF does have a doctrinal vehicle (Jeep), its locked behind a paywall.
But I agree, we could do with a doctrinal vehicle like that, but M20 is probably the wrong way to do it. Maybe M15 without AA cannon? |

KV-8 is fine, ppl just have to l2p.
Also, Fyi, heavy tanks are actually called "heavy" because of the weight of the tanks. All this weight has to go somewhere and usually that's armour. So the KV-1 and the KV-8 were early war heavies but not the late war heavies and were becoming obsolete as having an ability for survivability, as is represented in the game.
This thread though, from what most here has been saving save Kaitof, Corsin and Elchino7.... it seems like everyone wants to just be lazy and expect the balance team to do all the work for them, rather than adapting they just come here to whine.
Eg:
dumb logic, you know why? because if I build a P4 to counter my opponents KV-8 he will have an IS-2 whch I am hopeless against.
Seriously? How is this even a comparison? Just because he has a KV-8 doesn't mean he'll get an IS-2 at the same time. Also, this is 300-330 fuel and 1k MP vs about 330 MP and 125 fuel or something. |
if you play against moderately good player it's almost impossible to steal one unless your opponent plays like a retard.
But actually, the thing is 100 % opposite of what you say that, unlike mortar pits ISGs are absolutely survival, and almost never die, cause they are usually sitting beside medic trucks being constantly healed and repaired of required and can move away easily when counter barraged, and often protected by the flak truck which makes it not flank-able in that stage of the game
because in order to harass that position you need to first kill the flak truck and if you try to kill the flak truck with your AT gun, it dies to a few shots of ISGs too quickly and you hand in your AT gun to your opponent as well
Honesly, it's way too broken at the moment
Or you make a good push with combined arms which kills ISGs.
Or use a unit that can drop near ISGs and potentially steal them (hello Commandos)
And no, units do not get passive heal when under attack.
If they have a flak truck up, they're also going to build tanks soon, mortar pits shouldn't be built at that stage. And ATGs arent the only way to counter flak trucks, tanks are far better for that. |
good luck grabbing a ISG/pack howitzer when it's in the enemy base. if they had lower range (like mortars) it would be doable.
Then maybe not build mortars where you can get ISGed?
IMO Mortar pit is unviable in 1v1s, In 3v3/4v4, the maps are big enough so ISG/Pack Howi's aren't sitting in the enemy base unless if their forwards base is ambitiously forwards in which you can attack the forward base with vehicles and offmap instead.
Its not like ISG/Pack Howi have arty range and can do it from the base HQ. |
Maybe Emplacements should be considered unviable? Or purely defensive?
The thing about ISGs is, unlike mortar pits, they're not as survivable and can be reclaimed by opponent troops. Mortar pits on the other hand, have lots of protection and normally dies when decrewed.

/thread really
Any doctrine that includes 1) Useful Call-in 2) Useful Artillery/Off-Map and 3) Useful Call-In Tank is always going to be popular and useful commanders. That doesn't mean they are "game-breaking" (talk about an exaggeration) or need changed. If anything if you see them all the time then you generally know what the other player is going to do and that can give you an advantage. See Rifle Company? You know he's going to rush for an Easy 8 most likely? -> Get a pair of Stu-Gs instead of a Panzer 4s and so own and so worth.
It would be nice if Relic looked at bringing other commanders up to snuff like they did with Partysans (minus the part where they broke them) so that we wouldn't see the same Commander match-ups all the time.
While what you say is true.....
There are some doctrines that are uncounterable should any half decent players have their hands on it.
IMO, Rifle Company, Soviet company and Tiger Ace aren't game breaking, especially with Tiger Ace where it is possible to outplay your opponent well before Tiger Ace comes out.
Vanguard on the other hand.... you have a very strong infantry unit, gives you an Forward Reinforce Point, one of the best airstrikes in the game with Typhoon and one of the best tanks in the game (Churchill Croc). If there was an example of gamebreaking, that would be it. |
You'd think for a 15+ game you would have a mature audience who don't need a censor playing.
Instead, we have pudding and gardens everywhere. Relic's buffing the brits confirmed. |
Vanguard
When you have commandos (which are okay, borderline, but okay), Tempest raids (even better than the Ami P-47 vehicle strike) and Crocs (no debate) in the same commander:
You know its broken. |
