There's literally nothing as useless in the game as those. I don't get how a part of base commanders can remain in such state. The whole thing appears to have health and dps of 1 engineer, not even exaggerating.

One of the members of the "doctrine-unit-nerfed-into-the-ground-to-be-never-touched-again" club.
It's pretty awful, it actually struggles to hit and damage infantry with the gun and canister shot got nerfed to uselessness. Anti-vehicle capability pretty much non-existent.
Not really sure what could be done to make it useful and not also overlap with stuart though. |
What, you want AVREs one-shotting panthers again like when brits came out?
It has shorter reload AND starts reloading instantly after you shoot. Damage traded for rate of fire, it's better for wiping lone weapons teams and such. It's more use against opponents who are not blobbing.
Also a HUGE perk is that it has a turret. It's really fine. |
- They are a manpower sink, good luck killing off as much mp as you are losing on reinforcing them
- Awful veterancy, accuracy boost at vet4, and it's measly 15%. Good luck getting there with vet req, unimpressive damage and also...
- Terrible survivability. Impossible to keep alive, full squad wipes by indirect fire and tanks are common
- Less effective than obers, with every squad member you lose 1/4th of your dps, lmg squads keep most of it in the machineguns
- Why would you pick this commander anyway
The only thing they are useful for is popping out to kill a sniper or an mg, except the other peek-a-boo units do it at a fraction of the cost. They are also awful if you want to steal the weapon you just recrewed, because you end up with a reinforcement cost monster. |
No.
If it makes m10 or T34 bad, then they should be buffed instead of making them rely on cheese and rng to be useable.
Pinned infantry should still be crusheable though. |
I thiknk VCOH veterancy systems were interesting and made the factions that much distinct. Did they work though? Unfortunately no, that's just impossible to balance.
It's way too late to make changes like that in coh2 anyway.
If by some miracle we get another axis faction and it's something a bit different, but not as radical as wehr's purchased vet, sure, why not, OKWs vet5 did not break the game. |
I know it will never happen but alternate, expensive upgrade to KV-85 would be cool, too
Would be neat as hell, a very interesting unit. I love upgun/weapon change upgrades, and coh2 has way too few of them. |
It would be weird to give it a different gun than a t34... Maybe if it's a slight ROF increase.
What I could see is a massive HP pool, just like churchills, though I'm not sure if it would make the tank much more useful anyway. |
I don't really see the problem with riegels being planted by something else than a halftrack.
Or if that's such a big deal, why not have a call-in with an ammo carrier (think PE ammo HT) 251/250 with that ability? Would be an interesting addition.
And of course, who wouldn't want jagdpanthers instead of PaK43s, but that's unattainable. |
I really, really like STG volks, they are a super fun unit to use, though I see a few problems with them. Mainly it's that I don't see many reasons to use doctrinal infantry or, even more so, obers, when at that point you've got vetted STG squads on the field.
And I would still like to see a shreck on something, It couldn't be spammed easily on Sturmpios or Obers. Obers might be too expensive to get as a single shreck platform though (unless they get some very useful AT support abilities to go with it, like a detracking shot or something), and double would make them too similar to PGs.
Penals are very strong, maybe a bit too strong, but the biggest problem is again that they take the spotlight, cons are just useless in comparison and shocks seem a bit redundant.
USF mortars are great and one change I'm 100% sure should stay.
