thats the thing, no they dont need to be tightly packed to get 1 hitted, ive seen fully spread grens squads get consistently wiped in 1-2 hits
Before it was 1-shotted, now it's 1-2? The ISU, Brumbar, IS2, Tiger, and KT all are pretty good at 2-hit wipes. They all get random 1-hit wipes when models stack up while moving around an obstacle. It doesn't mean that any of them need to be radically changed. The ISU is really expensive, and not very good at AT so it really should be good at AI. It's really good if you're ahead and can keep a lot of support around it but if you don't then it can die pretty quickly to a flank. |
So being able to 1 hit squads at 60 range, leaving no time to react is OK?
The models would have to be tightly clumped to have a 1 hit wipe. It's usually two hits at a minimum, and it's reload speed is terrible, as is it's rotation rate so it's not like you have no reaction time. Nerfing the HE range would pretty much remove it from the game. |
ISU has IL2 in the same doctrine.
Yes, and Jaeger Armor has Elefant, spotting scopes, recon, and Stuka dive bomb.
Breakthrough has Panzerfusiliers plus JT (and a badly OP assault arty)
Is there another Axis faction that somehow doesn't have decent counters? Or does every allied unit need nerfs if you can't YOLO into it and win? |
120 mm is basicly a howitzer especially agaisnt ost 4 Men untis
dont need off maps
no heavy tanks neede because mark target and SU85 shred every heavy...
U know why the commander is meta since release?
The 120 does 68(or 62?) damage to infantry. It is anything but a howitzer, other than a similar manpower cost. It is practically never worth the additional pop cap and cost above the 82mm. It still sounds like the old OP 120 but that's about it.
After trying the B4 a few more times and playing aginst it, I think the B4 is better than a lot of people are giving it credit. If you pick targets well and get vet quickly, it starts wiping stuff like crazy. I just played a 3v3 where someone on the other team wiped two of my teammates walking stuka's with a B4. It's a little less RNG when someone gets to gamble really often at vet 3. |
I doubt that the Ostheer mortar is allot better but that is not an issue here. If the mortar replaces the Pack Howitzer in Captain and it need a buff it should receive one.
The Ost mortar is a lot better. The USF mortar ends up being an overpriced smoke delivery unit. Maybe you're thinking of the Soviet mortar, which is only a tiny bit worse.
I wouldn't mind making the Pack howie more like an artillery piece, if they would at least boost the USF mortar to match the Soviet one. The Ost mortar would be OP if used against Ost because of having to keep Grens stationary. |
Though as IIRC you were a 3v3 player where OST T4 panther delay is doable.
All of which has nothing to do with his point that the there isn't any conclusions that can be made from the tournament data. Most of the comments on this thread have been from people who have their preconceived ideas, grab a piece of data and then claim the piece of data proves their theory. If I felt like trolling, I'd point out that the four finalists won 86% of their games as OST, and since 86%>>50%, OST needs immediate nerfs. |
Another idea I was thinking to counter Allies LV is to give Puma as a non-doctrinal unit to Wher. I know one commander will need to change but this will greatly help with 3 v 3 and 4 v 4 games as well where T-70 is rampant!
This probably would've increased the number of players playing OST in the last tournament. The problem is what tier, because I'll bet that a lot of the Axis players would want it in Tier 2 which seems too early.
Also, if the balance team was going to do something like this, they ought to consider how they would give UKF more stock units, and maybe eliminating some of the either/or choices. |
Yep nothing more to add.
If you play with ANY RANDOM PERSON on the internet, you should expect to meet as much as good people as bad ones. The fact is, you will probably remember the bad ones, because they will be toxic or vocal. The good people go unnoticed.
If anything, a good advice for people been affected by what others said, is to simple ignore the chat. You are not gonna improve or receive meaningful advice from the chat, specially during a game.
+1 on the first part - I think most people's memory works this way.
To OP - I would suggest playing a few comp stomps with your friends to teach them the basics, rather than trying to go into a multiplayer game right away where they will get beaten, trolled, or both. Multiplayer really isn't a good place to learn as the learning curve is steep.
Unfortunately there isn't a way to mute team chat or pings. Adding to that, it seems like the worst players are the ones that ping and BM the most. I very rarely see top 100 players in any game mode BM, they're usually too busy playing well. It's usually 1000+ players who think they're top 100 that do most of the BM'ing. |
There's a lot of interesting ideas in there. Maybe try pitching some of them when they do the next balance patch? |
So is DerKuhlmann Ritters's alt account?
I think so. It would be epic if they started debating each other. Does the internet break if you troll yourself? |
