Run away earlier if your not going to win the fight, save your manpower unless your going for a squad wipe or something very important
eventually this will give you a bigger army and a manpower lead if you don't get squad wiped and you can outblob him. He can only have 6-7 rifles if you have 6-7 grens unless he won alot of fights already
Watch casts of good players they retreat full HP units if they are gonna lose
Very sound advice. That helped my ostheer game a lot when I learned that if a single rifle squad met a single grenadier squad of mine and I was finished capping a point or already in green cover I would just retreat unless I had a nearby squad to assist me. Rifles (vanilla vs vanilla) will win 1v1 except in extreme circumstances so don't stick around for those duals unless tactical circumstance requires it (e.g. You are still capping a vital point and are almost done |
The MP bleed is the biggest Achilles heel IMO of the USF. Exploit that with sniper play backed up by MGs. Just realize you will have to give ground often in early and mid game but that's ok |
Finally got this figured out...had to change Alias to match my COH2.ORG sign in.
Steam Alias: hannibalbarcajr (clicking on my player card still displays my previous Alias: umrmechealum) I will look for both names on sign up sheet.
Steam ID#: 76561198065091318 |
What other websites can I use to get my steam ID number ? |
I used to love this little infantry and support team killer at 6 CP. But now it comes at 8 CP when there are many more tanks and assault guns out to make its reign pretty short. What is the best way to use this unit now? I used to use it to help push on enemy strong points and deflate blobs if they appeared. I have only bought it once since the change in CP requirements and I noticed how much more perilous it was to have on the battlefield compared to the previous version. I usually would get 2 and not replace them if/when they died...is that even practical anymore? |
Hey guys, recently I have been trying to utilize the Brummbär with little success. Usually I've been using it in games where I'm vastly ahead and just testing out different tactics and units.
In my opinion is seems slow to fire with a considerably slow projectile. Even against blobs it really only takes out of a few models, and lastly seems very fragile for a close range heavy assault gun.
I know it is rarely seen in game, but has anyone had success with it? Any tips, tricks, or insight when it comes to using it?
I'll try to get replay up soon, but I'm sure you all know what Im talking about.
i have also been trying it but only when i have game well in hand as i am too nervous to use in a tight game...it's awesome for base rushing and killing units that are just finished retreating to HQ i can tell you that
It needs a buff of some kind...if you are going ot go T4 you might as well get panther. Only if you already have said panther should you bother getting Brummbar and that is still debatable as the tank's aim/rotation is so slow and the shell is very, very slow so infantry can react as long as the opponent is paying attention...you might be able to force some retreats though. |
Having issues trying to use the steam tool as it keeps telling me the service isn't available....is alias different than username? My username is hannibalbarcajr but my screen name (alias?) is umrmeche Which do I put down for Alias? Also, is there an FAQ for my issues getting my ID?
There are many different websites that convert steam IDs. Maybe steam was down. Try other sites, try at other times. I don't know how else to help you, but this is not the place for it. Use the Q&A thread if you have further questions. -Ami |
This all looks pretty good. Brits and Wehr early game are probably the only real losers. |
If you can keep them reinforced I can see how they would be devastating. Their reinforcement should probably go up if the heavy option is chosen |
Hey hannibalbarcajr
This part of the game is the most stressful and it needs a lot of practice. Even good skilled players struggle with this from time to time
But there is a little hint I can give to you, even if it sounds pretty easy.
Begin to watch replays or live games ingame and try to keep up to overwatch all units of one side.
Behave like you would be the player onto the field:
follow the sniper
listen to sounds and go fast the their point if needed
keep an eye onto the minimap and the unit icons
try to follow every attack and even look for flanking opportunities
etc.
The most important thing here is, that you got a lower stress lvl, you arent in the match as a player, just as a viewer.
You can slowly try to handle fast camera speed easier, to be more sensetive for sounds and get a better sense for danger.
Another good tip is the tactical map, you can see top tier players like luvnest using this map nearly every second. The reason is you got a better overview of nearly every situation onto the battlefield in just a second.
Even try to train you memory. If you can remember every step you ordered a unit to do, you can handle a better unit preservation in the late game. For sure it is getting harder the more units you got, but it shouldnt be a disadvantage for YOU to keep all units alive until the late game starts.
And also never stay with your camera onto one sport for a long time if nothing happens. Move your camera, look at your units, even if nothing is happening there. Repeat the units order to keep it easier in your mind.
The important thing here is, order nothing unnecessary, then it is easier to remember every position of your units.
And a last thing it, I just use the first 4 numbers for the most important units e.g. engis, main inf, tanks and a special unit like sniper.
You could try, for example to put all your main inf onto one hotkey, like 1, then press it and switch through them with the Tab button, for sure it needs some practice, but this is needed everywhere in the game
But this is just one way to do it! So it is not the sample solution
And last but not least dont be upsad if you lose cause of micro issues. Micro is the hardest thing in a game and nearly everyone does some mistakes in a long game. If you lose, rewatch the game and analyse your mistakes
Hope I could help
See you on the Battlefield
I all certainly give that a try. Thanks. I like idea of all my infantry in one group. My middle mouse button is actually the Tab key so I can cycle units quickly but the problem I run into is some units have to run back to base and then if I give a command to all my infantry that will include under strength ones. What I have been doing for now is putting all infantry together then when I need them to converge for a push I order all infantry with one click then follow up by dragging rectangle at my base and clicks stop so my wounded units don't leave. Is that the best practice? |
