Ya, that about sums it up. |
Against OKW the only alternative are snipers.
Which one do you prefer to be spammed with?
There are no other valid options with how weak soviet core infantry is and how it (doesn't) scale into late game.
Lets sum up something.
So far we have:
Snipers-cheeze
M3-cheeze
Shocks-cheeze
Guards-cheeze
Maxims-cheeze
So what do we have here?
A conclusion that axis wants to fight only against conscipts, penals and partisans.
Why?
Because they are horrible and you can a-move over them.
Guess, what, if everything is so cheezy and tough and inconvenient, then perhaps the problem doesn't like in balance exclusively?
Inconvenient units doesn't equal to overpowered.
By the logic of this thread, allied players should spam the shit out of forums with nerf threads on all OKW infantry except volks and on wehr weapon upgrades(and I suppose stormtroopers now, because pgren squad with sniper camo was a good idea).
This is absolutely brilliant (no sarcasm.).

To be honest I would rather have useful conscripts over useful MG's. But you have to play with the cards your dealt. So out come the mg's and down go the German infantry.
Then you hit cp2, and out come shocks, and then the game gets fun. |
You cannot nerf the maxim with the soviet infantry in there current state. It also requires a counter buff to another soviet unit. |
The only things I would like to see in the next patch is the allies not needing to rely so heavily on their doctrines, and an improvement to soviet infantry.
I've played both German and soviets (significantly less German). I know people are constantly complaining about the soviets maxim and have experienced its mobility from both sides. But to speak quite frankly to all those that want it nerfed; until the soviets get infantry that can compete with German infantry, the maxim should not be changed in any way. |
I've been playing a lot with a guy who likes to play with guards. He doesn't pick up the PTRS when they drop. I think this speaks loads as to how well they are preforming for their intended roll as anti vehicle infantry. Basically, there not preforming at all. He uses them for two reasons, one they still do better then conscripts vs german infantry, and two they can throw a grenade.
I'm not sure what the right thing to do with guards is, but they definitely need to be changed from their current state. |
Problem is you have to blob your infantry if your opponent is blobing. Then its just who has the better anti-blob weapon. And the answer is OKW with the best, par non artillery known as the stuka. |
You know what, I like the idea. My younger cousin is trying to get into the game... and the learning curve is just huge, even with me helping him he's have a hard time. |
I'm actually surprised that people think OKW are the strongest in 2v2. Finally found someone who plays allies to AT with (as double soviet) and we fought primarily OKW and were consistently kicking the shit out of them. That being said, our one loss of 7 games occurred when they got a stuka out. |
I'm still surprised that it doesn't improve their combat effectiveness, PTRS are more like a rifle then an AT gun. And it giving conscripts better late game viability would fix a common complaint. |
