So recently there have been a couple of changes on OKW side. While i do not dispute the fact these were needed, i think some of them were only half-a*s nerfs. Here's a list of OKW units needs some love:
- SPio Schreck. Giving schrecks for Spios was a bad idea on the first place. I would prefer a change where volks could keep the schreck, but a single scheck upgrade would render two member of the squad inactive. If the schreck stays for Spios, then its 90MU price is no longer reasonable. The cold package is no longer relevant, and 90MU weapon upgrade is too much for a 4 men, relatively fragile squad.
- Raketen ATgun. If you google the word "design flaw", the image of this gun should appear. Its the worst AT gun in the game, with a bunch of useless abilities, so biased people can use those as an excuse. Retreat, cloaking, garrison. The gun has horrible aim speed. Its literally impossible to kill with it anything heavier than a light tank. Even that is debateable. Aim time must be fixed. Retreat never won any fight so far. Cloak no longer provide damage bonus but accuracy boost, which is pretty much useless when your AT can only fire once in a decade. Also the gun crew get wiped out constantly. I think it should be changed to a simple PAK40, 320MP price and locked behind teching. OKW NEEDS a reliable ATgun, and RkW is garbage.
- ISG. The USF mortar makes this unit looks like a joke. USF mortar must be removed, or ISG rebalanced against it. Most of all, SMOKE SHELLS are needed to counter MGs, since OKW has no direct counter for reasonable price.
- Obersoldaten. Unit has been nerfed for a while. Its a manpower sink now. The stock unit still doesnt worth 400MP, and get constantly wiped out. Decrease their price to 340MP max. 280MP riflemen already reach terminator vet by the time they first face with obers, and they cut through Obers with their LMGs, like hot knife through butter.
- Forward Retreat. Half-a*s change again. Medics are now separated, fuel based upgrade now for this HQ. Why do we still pay 300MP for this? UKF version is 250MP.
- FlakHQ. Please, PLEASE make it possible to switch targets, or prioritize infantries over vehicles. If a tank rolls in forward the HQ, the flak will keep firing the vehicle even if it cannot damage. Penals can walk in and throw satchels on it, because we cannot switch target. F*cked up massively.
- Flak Half-track. No one ever built this unit since WFA were released. Tells the story...

I think their price, performance and timing are not game breaker factors at the moment. So they can stay. The tanks which were so reliable to worth skipping tiers for them and spam them in numbers were either locked to building or limited to 1.. |
USF players hardly ever go for a pack howie theses days because they already have a mortar without tech requirement. OKW just doesn't really have a comparable tool at all, because the isg in it's current state doesn't do the job efficiently. What's the point in having a 50 MP cheaper unit that isn't half as useful?
USF mortar makes Packhowi totally redundant... i think it should be removed.
If we doesnt count the USF mortar, i think ISG performance is good, except it could use smoke shells. I dont think it needs any AOE buff, since its already pretty accurate.
But if USF mortar remain like this, i would balance ISG to that aswell. |
The faction already has a reliable AT gun, and TDs in every size and color. Its just overkill.. Soviets are no need of another doctrinal AT gun. Just remove it.. |

I'm 100% sure that very mobile, 400hp, stealth having and accurate enough to wipe squads in 2 bursts unit is useless late game.

Check out a vet2 T70 with its rapid fire... i wish ostwind could kill infantry as fast as a T70 can. |
I dunno I find that the 222 is still pretty awkward in that it's entire pupose is to currently shut down allies rushing a light vehicle for shock value.
Sure, would be much better if turbo-firing T70s could freely roam the fields, right?

Raketen is still a garbage imo...
Retreat, cloak and garrison abilities are great, but worth nothing if you cant carry out a f*ckin kill with it.
I would rather lock it behind teching and increase its price to 300 or 320, just to be f*ckin reliable.
OKW is a crippled faction. Soviets are raping them on every level. Partially because of these garbage tools. An AT gun needs to deal with tanks, not run home crying... |
Its price should reflect its performance. Increase its fuel price from 15 to 25. End of story. |

Anyway, the 222 never needed 320 health.
I would much rather see it exchange 40 (or even 80) health for more armor, something to the effect of the 251 halftrack.
Giving the 2mm munitions upgrade back would be nice, and (sorta) side steps the MG bug until the 2mm is upgraded, not to mention putting weight on the resource Ostheer is usually starved for: munis.
It's almost kinda jarring how much AI power is lost with the 2mm. It's MG without the 2mm turret is surprisingly powerful.
I think what this unit always needed is the HP buff. The whole vehicle has such a short lifetime, without the HP it has now, no one would ever bother to build it.
I think either a 25FU price or the optional gun upgrade for munition would put this vehicle to the right place.
Change the penetration of the stock gun to 1, and when 50 MU spent on the upgrade increase its penetration to 35. Thats all... |
