You would have a large pool of abilities to choose from. Though I am worried this would lead to massive forum wars regarding the score of certain abilities vs others and not only would it be a pain in the ass to balance but it would also be a real easy way to paywall/dlc should lelic decide to go that route. Looking at you expo exclusive commanders that I had to buy off ebay cause i don't live on the US coasts. In: Lobby

While a katy can wipe just like any other rocket arty, its barrage is spread out over a longer period of time compared to other rocket arty, giving the enemy more time to retreat. Unless RNG favors you or you are close to the barrage target, the German player can afford to wait till after the first salvo before deciding if retreat is in order. It isn't bad per say but it has a lot of negative aspects such as what I mentioned and having a larger hitbox than other rocket arty platforms. It doesn't even have a token defensive weapon unlike its German counterparts. Also, its special ability just gives even more time to react. In: COH2 Balance

For one getting a goliath across half the map without being spotted or heard is pretty naive. For two, OKW doesn't have a plethora of offmaps, not any that are particularly effective at killing a 120mm, saying that they do shows your ignorance. For three Falls may be effective, but they still expensive and have the high chance that they will be wiped on retreat. For four Jaegers would take a year and a day to kill a 120mm with their little DPS. And have you actually used a LeIG barrage? 4 shells with little AOE will never kill a 120. And in comparison the 120 can just kill the LeIG with barrages or auto attacks. A non-doctrinal leig shouldn't be a perfect counter to a doctrinal 120mm mortar considering the popcap and mp cost for each. As far as the goliath is concerned you can always create a diversion elsewhere on the map to draw away attention. Don't jaegers and falls have grenades? You also have a squad wiping monster that is the stuka. I know it is hit or miss but even having one on the field creates pressure on your opponent. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: How to deal with Halftrack Mortars as UKF14 Mar 2018, 21:41 PM My 2v2 partner who usually plays brits while I play soviets is having trouble dealing with mortar halftracks. Normally he goes counterbarrage when he sees mortar spam trying to counter his emplacements. Sadly this is nowhere near as effective vs the mortar halftracks. He gets very nervous about using light vehicles outside of the bren carrier with a wasp because he doesn't feel they give enough protection against being chased down by infantry. In light of this I have been encouraging him to communicate more about it so I can send SU76s to his side to deal with it. When I scrim against him to test how to deal with it I just don't build emplacements and dive his base with an AEC to take them out. Any suggestions? In: UKF Strategies

(The reason mention healing is that unless you manage to dislodge tommies from their cover you are going to face them again fully healed which makes things even worse.) Penals are delayed by tech and when UKF players buy the healing they delay other items that cost munitions. Same reason you dont see a mass spam of rifle grenades in most early games because the Ost player needs the muni for the medical bunker and snares. The UKF player has to manage his early game resources so that he can upgrade his bren carrier. If you are not likely to trade to your advantage in a fight don't fight it. Cap elsewhere and make them leave their cover. Cap around them and then close in from multiple sides if they are camping. If you are Ost, distract him elsewhere then use a rifle nade because the tommie bags bunch the models up great for a squad wipe. Or better yet do it with a second squad out of line of sight. To me tech level is irrelevant, if that creates an issue one can move Ro.E. to T0. (UKF heal is far superior to both OKW and Ostheer medic kits) UKF is indeed superior but as an ability it isn't all that unique, just better. I merely objected to you using it as a "and another thing" pile on to the sandbag discussion. I really don't think any of this is a viable solution to what I see as a non-issue. I don't even understand where you are coming from on this. I mean you say they have to be dealt with in a pain in the ass way that eats up time and resources. Vet has nothing to with it. Tech has and the tech cost is really low. In addition USF do not have sandbags. I'm comparing it in that they both have a battlefield heal that costs muni. And I meant to say Tech 0 not Vet 0. You are saying that UKF shouldn't have the ability to build cover at the start of the match, contrary to every other faction since alpha. This would be a signal to every other faction to rush their open field cutoffs knowing they will be at a disadvantage. This would completely throw off the current cover creation early game meta for UKF. It would make UKF uniquely vulnerable in the early game assault and defense. Every other faction would be able to take a cutoff and build cover wherever on that point as a delaying tactic except for UKF. With all that in mind are you still in favor of putting UKF cover behind Tech? In: COH2 Balance
