Ughh, Relic, you really have to make your April Fool's Joke such a big slap in the face? You couldn't do something like Tyranids in CoH? I've been wanting the Japanese since the first game, and this just makes me sad to see, knowing it likely won't ever happen. :'( |
He's clearly talking about the Eastern Front mod that already exists. He isn't talking about creating new content now from nothing. |
Relic hard coded the key bindings into the game which is why nobody can set custom bindings and they likely won't/can't change this in the future or it may screw the game up unintentionally. I don't really understand why they didn't allow custom key bindings in the first place because hard coded key bindings is amateur level programming.
I understand that, but I'm not even asking for fully customizable keybinds (not that it wouldn't be nice); I'd just like to see one of the most used and universally useful commands not be on the side of the keyboard your hand isn't. It's just ridiculous. |
Am I the only one who's going to stick up for the OP's premise here? Lol.
U is an awful hotkey for reverse gear, and I've contended this since the game's release. Simply pointing out that you can completely flip the entire hotkey layout on its head with grid hotkeys, or that you can use third party software to change one bad hotkey placement is not justification for such a terrible design decision on Relic's part. |
* Panzergrenadiers used to be tanky juggernauts that wiped everything
* T34s used to be nothing but ramming platforms
* SU-76 was about as useful as a Napoleonic cannon
* That short time when the Katyusha destroyed OKW trucks in two barrages...
* Spamming Chuchills with their ludicrous armor and HP was pretty much unstoppable after a certain point
* German turbo-mortar and Soviet 120m
* Brummbar used to...oh wait, nevermind |
I always thought pioneers repaired faster than Soviet engineers. Guess not. At any rate, both of them could really use a repair rate buff. The fact that even rear echelons repair faster is just insulting considering you barely need them. |
This happens just about every time, so it isn't hard to reproduce. This happens with American, British, and OKW sandbags. I'll have to double check the Soviet ones soon.
It probably has to do with the change that engies can't repair sandbags anymore, which actually might be a bug itself. I believe Relic wanted to make it so engineers would vault over sandbags, but even manually repairing doesn't work. Infantry sections with emplacement doctrine still works, however.
EDIT: This was supposed to go in the bugs section. Mod, please change it. |
I really don't like the idea, especially because it's just making a current sidetech a mandatory upgrade for no benefit. It doesn't make the faction any more interesting, honestly. The biggest reason Brit players (or at least I) don't use Mills Bombs very much is because Tommies are best used at longe range where thrown grenades can't reach their targets.. They're not like conscripts or riflemen where you want to get up close and personal. |
Honestly, I'd love to see a late Cold War setting that erupted into a hot war, similar to the Wargame series. I don't think there is much more to do for the series in WW2; although I'd love to see a Japanese faction in COH2, I don't relish the thought of an entire game based on the Pacific Theater. |
Please add a Japanese faction. People are way too dismissive about the idea. |
