They are not very expensive for their new performance I do not agree They are too strong to be in the game as they are. I think they are one of the best infantry units, but that is fine if their cost and vet speed appropriately reflects that. Observations: Personally I build like 3 in my first game this patch and got them all vet 5. How many other factions build say 3 shock troops, rangers, commandos, ect in the first 12 minutes? Let's fix this first. Suggestions 1. Increase vet requirements 2. Increase manpower cost 3. Possibly increase FG42 Munitions cost, but its a munitions heavy doctrine so its not easy to get the 60 anyways when you want planes smoke, Valiant assault ect. After this I think their performance should be monitored with new cost and vet requirements to see if additional changes are needed. In: COH2 Balance

And a single MG42 can stop ambulance push, what can stop Blitz blob on allied side? Vickers and Maxim? M5 Quad Or other vehicles I feel like the unit is not insanely OP, but mabye an area of focus for next patch could be looking at the ambulance/blitz on field healing, they are both strong but its hard to quantify their impact or performance as its very subjective to each game. Try it out again, with some Flamer Sturmpios in close support (I usually use 2 Flamer 1 Sweeper), plus either a Volks or Racketten for anti-armour security. You can very easily gain total field dominance with it in the early game, and if you have some decent support from another player in a team game, can lock down the map reasonably well. This results in attriting the enemy enough that the match may never reach the late game, or otherwise destroys the enemy teching so much as to delay their final tier to be far, far later than yours. I'm just finding it to be a bit too dominating for the time period when it comes out, is all. How does this compare to say the Brits M5 halftrack at 2 cps, Why would this unit be say stronger than that one? I use brits b/c they have the option of healing IS Cost is 240/30 for Brit HT quad optional 200/20 for Opel blitz with no weapons In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: sturm officer 11 Sep 2019, 16:25 PM I think that he is better overall because he has veterancy now, smoke nade is also a nice addiiton The reinforce cost of 35 with .91 RA is still limiting his effectiveness though espceiclaly considering the officer model's pistol is not entirly helpful on a long range squad til vet 5 In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Wehrmacht September patch discussion10 Sep 2019, 14:32 PM Pios scale the worst and are typically relegated to vet 0 repair factories lategame unless you bought an early flamer or micro your first squad like a god. They could use something to encourage combat usage past 10 minutes they have a chance in hell of getting vet 2. Most other engineers are getting combat adjustments In: COH2 Balance

I assume you mean both Lt. and Captain, not major. I personally think it could be viable but some on the balance patch team and relic probably wouldn't want USF to change so radically. I think There is a direct conflict between keeping some of the cool mechanics like "free officer, Free Bar" and creating balanced and diverse gameplay. Similar conflict occurred when OKW got full resources at the expense of neutering vet 5 and increased manpower costs for tech. First and foremost it is important that the game is fun and the factions are different. But as we get to the later phase of the game lifecycle, I think most experienced players would appreciate the latter balanced and diverse gameplay as we already think the game is cool and exciting Edit: I don't necessarily think cool and balanced/diverse are mutually exclusive, but i think the relic balance team never really got far enough into meta problems see soviets spamming units from 1 tier from day 1 to day now or fundamental problems OKW had no anti garrison for like 2 years to develop top tier faction and teching designs In: COH2 Balance

I'd love that Ya the officer is in the tier for purchase just like if you lose him. my upgrade idea is mostly b/c i can't see a lot of players buying an officer in anything other than a rifle replacemnt scenario unless they have something more than BAR/Bazooka access. Officers are better than rifles but the point is that most people don't want 4 rifles when usf has alot of other doctrinal infantry options. In: COH2 Balance

I think if the opportunity presented itself the best possible rework for USF would include that. Something like WC51 t0 Officers are not free Officers have unique upgrades (LT thompsons CPT lmgs) Maybe including like Grenades with tech would solve the resource equation. Outside of the rifles only t0 and officers are also rifles problem usf is in a very good spot though. They just lack late game indirect/heavy tanks (which you can get with a doctrine) that's it. Usf still got to tech to vehicles before the m20 can be called. Yes I agree, if an ostheer player is rushing 222 you do not need to stall that long unless you were unprepared. An m20 with slow skirts would not have much time to harass freely, but it is still quite useful all game long. Probably the most difficult thing is that you need to have BP1 researched and t2 built or you will have difficulty reacting to a fast m20 even with ample resources so you must plan for an m20 regardless of whether or not it comes. #metagameproblems In: COH2 Balance
