People, while Ostheer has the priciest teching they also have the best HMG ingame available from HQ, 2nd best infantry squad, best sniper, best mortar, best AT gun, best infantry AT ingame, Scout Car that punches over its weight, upgrades included through linear teching, and of course recon Pios that can lay very effective mines.

Really pessimistic about the patch. Soviet and Ostheer teching changes are great, but everything else? Meh.
-Ostheer will play pretty much the same, but with more flexibility and also having to deal with Light tanks really early on. Commanders? Elite Troops, Mobile Defense, (lower CP Puma kappa) and a wildcard.
-Soviets will require teching. The Maxim doesn't suck. Yay. Commanders? Guard motor, Shock frontline, ML20 of your choice.
-USF entire faction meta will revolve around heavy RE start into fast Stuart, mark my words. Instead of patching holes in the faction (like T1, um, sucking, bazookas sucking, etc) Relic just gave them access to the best light tank ingame really, really early. Commanders? Actually quite flexible, just not Recon Bug Company.
-OKW will go BHQ every game, because ISG>Maxim, cheaper Sturms need to be healed, and of course free maphack. Also, because going Mech HQ against the 60 fuel Captain is suicide. Anyway, after BHQ it'll be fast PIV, which at Vet 4 becomes a mini-Tiger Ace in wiping ability. Commanders? MG34 ones. |
I don't think the soviet sandbags or better said barricades are OP except maybe against OKW and that's because of 1. volks shitty anti infantry capabilities, because of 2. you think twice before throwing a grenade (shouldn't I invest it to buy a shreck than try to flush these cons out of green cover? Decisions decisions...) because of 3. you don't have a flamethrower, because of 4. you don't have a proper mortar, 5. because you don't have a sniper and so on...... The only thing to do against this tactic is start with T3 and build an AA HT which willl be hardcountered pretty fast if your soviet opponent started with T2 or use that super-OP tank hunters doctrine. Or you can rely on more sturmpios, get close and be fast while doing it.
So OKW has some solutions too, in the end.
Once the Leig8 ISG is 330 MP all will be well.
What OKW should be worrying about is the new ML-20 and fast T70. |
Ostwind and Pzwerfer should trade spots |
I want Blood Gulch, Nuketown, Lockout, and Dust. |
I don't really think it's okay that Ostheer has to pay 410 fuel for it's first Panther assuming you skip T3 since that's pretty outrageous considering how mediocre the rest of T4 is.
Come September T3 is getting the Nebelwerfer, right? That'll be the nails in the coffin. |
REs with BARs>Riflemen with BARs
Somewhat on topic, are No-Riflemen builds viable? I've done a couple of games where I go 6 RE, 3 Path, Captain, Bars, AT gun, Major and it's been working reasonably well for a crackpot strategy. Once REs hit vet 2 with BARs they become the most cost efficient infantry ingame, like Cons that actually scale.

That still wouldn't excuse buffing it as you'd simply shift muni upgrade cost to mp and fuel cost.
Decreasing muni cost for more fuel and MP is a buff in itself. That 55 is a bonus Teller mine.
Really though with how cheap it is it's a no-brainier unit to build. Increasing cost and performance (through default upgrade) is better.

Its dirt cheap.
You can't expect much of such low cost vehicle.
Not from a single one at least.
I would like them to be more effective against infantry, but they already are light vehicle soft counter as well. You can't have generalist vehicle at such low price and have it effective against both inf and light armor. Does greyhound still loses to it?
Single one will always be a scout, you need at least two to have some decent Ai firepower.
I would support making it come with autocannon upgrade but cost 30 fuel and more MP. |
Riflemen with dual BARs are Fire Warriors. |
