The WC51 is clearly really good now that the chance to be shrecked by volks is gone. I haven't see a lot of Sturmshreck on 1vs1 because it now cost a lot of munition.

Yes I think now the shreck cost more than before simply because it is not anymore a no-brainer upgrade. Shreck added a lot of dps vs infantry to volks, with few shots on lights volks were getting fast xp. Today with the new OKW meta, the OKW player must upgrade STG on volks to get them last long and dps enough during the game. Don't take them too easily because they are good with those new toys.
But this force the OKW player to chose between AI and AT, and every minute of indecision or wrong decision let your WC51 being decisive.

First use it as chock unit and use the surprise you generate to inflict maximum damage and then cap your enemy critical points.
Second use it as transport to bring faster your squad to the frontline
And Thrid, use it as support from its max range to avoid hidden raketen/faust/shreck.

I add a replay, around ranks 120-150, I add some similar games before but didn't save the replay.
Replay WC51

Played some games vs OKW and the STG upgrade is a quite powerful tool. Gives you much more map presence.
I have been watching some games where USF went 2x early mortar and get naturally rekt by OKW. Mortar are good to counter statics, which is not really the case of early OKW.

And again, you're effectively delaying your mainline unit production and tech-ing if you start spamming MG 42s like the Wehrmacht which opposed to the OKW only have 2 units in their HQ building, and you'll only ever need another pioneer squad if you lose the first one or need more and cheaper capping power and recrewing of team weapons, not to mention repairs for tanks. So I still really don't see a problem with even a single MG34 being on the field, any smart OKW player would build max 2 if the MG34 was not to require another HQ truck if he wanted to stay in the game for longer than 5 minutes.

You really don't understand what you are talking about. have your play 1vs1 recently? I mean since WFA release?

Since you wanted to give a try to SP+HMG, I gave you an existant example of how Sturmpio + HMG early start is powerful. We don't need to give a try, we already know it.
Here you are the only one making movies inside your head, talking about theorycraft or BO or whatever to convince yourself of your good idea. Too bad, it is a bad idea, we know it, devs know it, balance designers know it, just acknowledge it and pass over.

You're lucky, I tried a 1vs1 Sunday afternoon and waited 5/7 minutes to finally meet someone ranking+600 than me, I waited more than I played against him (I didn't cheese neither did something particularly OP during the game). The game didn't last enough to give us points.
