If flanking was an option in this game, don't you think people would actually been flanking with their jackson or M10 or T34 or Cromwell or sherman? I mean, if already maps were allowing flanking that would be great but the game design itself punish flanking at the moment, this plus the lack of side armor making flanking like diving in some occasion. Hell, the game is already more friendly with diving than flanking, some factions have tanks with armor, almost secure to pen, health, smoke and warspeed/blitzkrieg to secure a kill and still having good chances to retreat alive. And you want to force super squeezy tanks to flank heavy with no armor, no smoke and no pen (need to pay extra munition to be allowed to pen). Well at least M10s have speed god save us!! Smoke charge is nice too, the commander is overall more useful vs Ostheer than OKW imo In: COH2 Balance

On the other side a scott isn't going to delete or force retreat a bunch of unit in one volley. It works differently. I excluded doctrines because each faction have doctrines with valuable assets, you can't tell me to just us Priest if in front of it there is a Tiger Ace. If you look into Stock Options, Oshteer is by design more equiped than USF who rely on crutch units to stay relevant. Again I'm not saying this is the perfect situation but that's what we have today. And btw you're probably one patch late, Pzgrenadiers are better than Riflemen now. The OP riflemen meme is over. OKW at the moment have also access to everything, from indirect fire to stock Heavy tank. Replace the pzwerfer with the Stuka behind the panther and here you go. And if you have trouble finding the USF unit in the fog of war, just build a IRHT. And Ober > Riflemen. So yes there is a margin in which the Jackson evolve above other faction and that's probably the only one USF has at the moment. What if the the margin was there to compensate the lack of mine, rocket arty, heavy tank, elite infantry etc... All other factions have access to at least one of those without having to use a doctrine. And even if you take doctrines in account, don't forget that other factions also have doctrine granting them the same amount of bonus. I'm not saying the situation is ideal but you can't really be serious with this argument. Other faction's margin is in what they can field around their tank destroyer USF can't. Ostheer margin is in the pzwerfer behind the panther firing at Jackson's support troops so the panther can freely roam around. etc... In: COH2 Balance

Skipping all tier structures then going straight to Tiger is quite potent when you factor in the buffed Assault Grenadiers (early anti infantry call in squad) and Panzer Grenadiers (good all around infantry that can get panzershrecks as AT with no building) and MG42 teams are already built from the HQ building. The problem isn’t that any squad is OP. The problem is that the new commander allows Wehrmacht to skip all tech building while retaining a strong force with glaring weaknesses. You can skip the PaK40 and T2 because of newly buffed PanzerGrenadiers being moved to HQ and skip T1 because you can get newly buffed Assault Grenadiers as call ins backed up by an MG42 or two because they are also in the HQ! Counter with infantry? Nope. PanzerGrenadiers are good at all ranges now, plus they don’t have to build tech for them so you save investment manpower which negates their main weakness (high cost/investment). Plus early rush of Assault Grenadiers are also a tough but now. Counter with light vehicles? Nope, PanzerGrenadiers again, this time with panzershrecks. Counter with HMG teams? Nope, damn PanzerGrenadiers at it again with smoke grenades to punch straight through (like old days Riflemen with smoke grenades which was deemed too OP I might add. Lol ) Counter with medium tanks? Nope, PanzerGrenadiers still got you covered with the panzershrecks. Not as bad as before but now they’re just stalling until the Tiger hits and thumbs down your medium tanks. Counter with snipers? This might work except that USF does not have one. Bummer. Maybe urban assault could add one maybe? Or a reworked rifle company maybe? I’m just throwing out ideas guys. I’d like to see your ideas on a good counter to this. Doesn’t have to be a change to the game, just a strategy that y’all find that works. Tiger rush is for the fun, Ostwind rush is serious business. The unit already has pseudo Howitzer performance when it unlocks Heat. Heat as default with more shells and barrage only would make it a lite LefH. The mortar is already there for constant soft bleeding. Scott: the reason i cut the range down to 40 (that's still 15 more range from faust, weapon range is not the same as cast range) is to make akin to other light tanks with AI (T70/P2) when i bring it down in tiers. I think i found it funny that you mention the Brum, when the unit was nerfed in the exact same way as i describe the Scott. The range was cut down and the wipe capabilities were tone down in favour of more spread damage. The range on the barrage remains the same. All the rocket units you describe have one common denominator, they are barrage only units and they get 1 shot by any 160dmg and are vulnerable to small arm fire. Scott is armored, has 400HP and get's smoke to escape through vet. You might not like it, but Scott is one of the few units which has escaped the "scope" grip, thus retaining his power level which remains from previews meta's. As long as it remains in the Major tech, it has to be stupidly OP in the AI department for someone to prefer it over a Sherman with AI. PakHowi with constant heat shell, even only on barrage would be OP. Stock Arty seems well on paper but crazy ingame. I can already hear the OKW players complain about it. Brumbar was on another level and has been adjusted, I don't remember having see a scott two shots a full health squads since long time (since pathing and squad formation patch) unlike the brumbar before its nerf 6 months ago. All rocket units can unload their weapon in less than 10 seconds and reach base safety afterwards, Scott can't. As I said, same devastation for infantry but with different methods. Now if the idea here is again to uniform each faction, let's swap Calliope and M8A1 but again I'm curious to see people reaction. In: COH2 Balance
