This doctrine is still one of the best OKW has, tbh.
I agree, it is one of my most used now for 2v2, the patched JLI might not have the close range firepower they once did, but they seem better at range. Also allowing them to throw the infiltration grenades has given them a means to combat enemies who get too close. The biggest buff though, IMO, is the cost decrease, only 300 MP to spawn allows me call 3-5 a game and they really compliment Volks and Sturms as long range damage. |

Ok, new serious problem just arrived. Trolls. I had few games with guys who do not have any commanders or bulletins and they simply do nothing. They are not afk, they are writing that they are trollig casue it's impossible to win as Allies vs Axis. They simply do nothing as a protest against unbalance.
You see the problem isn't that the game is horribly unbalanced (It does need some work). The problem is that a number of casual players: A.Need to L2P, B.Go AFK while searching for games, and/or C.Are douche-bags. Unfortunately Relic can never solve any of those 3 problems, so there will always be unbalance complaint threads.
If you are joining a 4v4 and then proceed to do nothing as "protest", then you are a douche-bag. You are ruining the experience for 3 other people by not contributing to a team game. Guess what?! Relic is NEVER GOING TO SEE YOUR NOT PLAYING PROTEST, they don't sit there all day looking at every game played. So L2P, pay attention to your search, and quit being a douche-bag. |
4v4 will never be balanced in any RTS. Even Starcraft's balance falls apart in 3v3/4v4, because there's so much stuff going on the tightly paced game balance cannot keep up and all kinds of nonsense can pop up.
And no, this isn't ''4v4 players are subhuman cretins''. This is just a basic reality of how games are designed and balanced. 4v4 is a valid game mode, but it's not where the competitive gameplay happens because it's not balanced for it, just like, say, League of Legends competitive gameplay happens on the 5v5 map and not the 3v3 one, because the game's design is optomized to play that way. Ranked PvP in World of Warcraft is on 10 or 15 player maps, not 40 player ones. Counter-Strike competition is mostly in 5-6 player teams IIRC. So on and so forth.
Relic could do more, I guess. Ressource scaling and all that jazz. But it's obviously a lower priority behind balancing the game for 1v1, and 2v2 to a lesser extent.
This^.
I would like to add that a lot of people only bring up resource balance for 4v4 and say that lowering resources gained would fix it, but they are over looking something: Unit design. There are units in the game that are flat out made for 1v1 to 2v2 and will never be reliable in 3v3 and 4v4. Allies rely on early game light vehicle swarms, in 1v1 and 2v2 they have room to maneuver and are fully utilized. However in 3v3 and 4v4 what happens when you have to face a line of 4-8 Pak 40 guns and Grens with Fausts? The answer is that over half the units in the game are not made for 3v3 and 4v4. Realistically even with decreased resources you are still going to see the same infantry blobs fighting until heavy tanks, because light vehicles are just too unreliable for cost in large games on the maps we have now.
To balance for 3v3 and 4v4, Relic would have to redesign maps, redesign resources, and redesign units. Relic is still having problems balancing for 1v1 and 2v2, balancing for 3v3 and 4v4 is low on their priorities list. Also to whoever said 4v4 was the most popular mode, I thought recent statistics pointed that the most popular mode was 2v2 by a large margin over the other modes? |
That was a legitimate case because McDonald was brewing coffee at crazy temperatures. They did it because they used very cheap coffee beans and the only way to get enough flavor from them was to brew them at something like 180f+. And by the way the lady sustained third degree burns from the coffee. Did you get that? Third degree is the highest possible burn, and from what a cup of coffee, who would have imagined. It's just that the media made a frenzy about it and painted the victim as a villain.
That's actually a good thing about their system, no matter how silly, they take every case seriously, or at least how it was. Now whether your case will win or not depends on evidence and strength of argument. Usually most of the silly cases get thrown out.
well now I guess I need to go back to the original topic
Not the best example, but it is early for me, but the idea is that anyone can sue anyone and it gets really stupid... |
Realistically no one is going to sue them over 3-4 Dollar. Even if that would be illegal, it will be also probably impossible to prove that they had such a plan in the first place, even if it would be no surprise for me.
The only thing that can be easily done is to stop buying the DLCs.
Uh, McDonald's got sued for a million dollars over a $1 cup of coffee that stupid person didn't think was hot and spilled on themselves. I live in America you can sue anyone for anything here.... |
25% RECEIVED accuracy penalty, so all other units now have -25% accuracy against maxims. Huge buff to maxims.... |
T3s do move faster than the KT turret rotation, also for those arguing that it is covered by AT guns and you can't circle; that is the point of combined arms. Counter their AT guns with mortars and infantry, you have combined arms as well, use them! |
Everyone whines about the KT, but it can be beaten, you just have to realize that after 15 minutes if the OKW player hasn't built any other vehicles, then he is going for KT. It can be beaten, it has been beaten, you just need to prepare better and realize that the Axis is going to go for heavy armor in large games. The tools are there for Soviets and USF to beat it, USE THEM. |
The problem I find with late game Obers with Stg44 is that the 4 man squad and mediocre health means that at least 1 of the squad dies before they get anywhere. It doesn't help that by the time I get them out in the game anyway the Allies usually have at least one tank out. |
@QueenRatchet123
A lot of those changes seem really bad. Making all the factions very similar (through your suggestions) would dilute the experience of the game. You have a vision for this game, that IMO, a lot of more experienced players see as being a bad thing. Adding the Pershing and making doctrinal tanks into non-doctrinal, are just bad changes that would lead to no real difference in identity of factions.
I see in your signature your obvious dislike of the Walking Stuka wanting it replaced with something else. I really see this as you not having a full understanding of the game play. I can't attest to how much you have actually played due to your player card not showing, but I have to assume you are a casual player. IMO, a lot of casual players want every faction to have heavy tanks and are usually highly critical to some particular unit another faction has that they can not beat.
I do agree with the rework of Ostheer T4, but anyone saying it is fine has clearly never played the faction against actual people. |
