sorry but i can't see how this could reduce competitiveness, maybe i was not clear clear enough.
for example a standard ostheer loadout is close air support, mechanized assault and assault support, so u have two armor commanders and 1 support commander.
pick one from each category and think of the worst case scenario, i don't see no underpowered combination.
i think the same goes for other factions as well.
NKVD tactics is utter dog vomit for Soviets, The Recon one for USF is pretty bad with an overpriced infantry call-in as the "big pay-off", Elite Armor is too expensive for resource starved OKW. Also getting any Howie doctrine and the opponent getting an airstrike doctrine would pretty much neuter your doctrine.
This is an interesting idea for Mods, but for Auto-match it just seems like someone trolling because they keep losing to same doctrine. |
I couldn't break this USF line. Plus is it me or do Raketens and IEGs still stink. The IEGs failed to "suppress" anything unless they got a direct hit, but they love to get close misses. The Raketen gives itself away due to cloak being broken and I kept telling it to target a vehicle that was behind a hedge, but instead of moving into position and attacking the crew picked up the gun then sat there...
Also last time I get JLI in a game with buildings, they were mediocre at best. |
It is neat, but I kinda wish they spent the time polishing the game rather than setting up this model show of units we have already seen and they have already marketed. I really don't know how many more copies of the British DLC they are going to milk out with this. |
They are overpriced for what they do. Initial purchase and reinforcement cost could use a reduction. Wouldn't mind seeing an STG44 cost reduction as well.

AOE is how you deal with light blobs in every RTS game.
WEHR- mortar, mortar HT, riflenade, Werfer, FHT, Tiger, Stug E, MG42
SOV-Demos, Mortar, 120mm mortar, ZiS, SU-76M, Quadtrack, KV-8, KV-2
OKW- Leig, Flaktrack, flak cannon, MG34, Stuka, Sturmtiger
USF- AA Track, Pack Howie, HMC, Sherman, Fighting Position rifle grenade
Maxim and .50 cal not mentioned because they don't stop blobs, only single units.
Buffed Maxim disagrees. .50 Cal also disagrees it just hasn't shown up yet. |

Maybe reduce the range? A Vet 3 Soviet Howie can even hit the Axis base from its own base on Moscow Outskirts map, one of the biggest maps in 2v2. There really isn't a map in 1v1, 2v2 where the Soviet Howie can't hit your base. I had to run my Walking Stuka up to the road right in front of their base park it next to a Zis gun and firew off the barrage then double quick around the corner to survive. Luckily the barrage killed the gun, otherwise they would have just recrewed.
The OKW does desperately needs a counter to it. Unfortunately our only hope of getting a new doc won't be until Sept 3rd at the earliest. Even then Relic may decide not to release anything for the other factions to encourage people to buy British faction. |
I have constantly been seeing the same Soviet build used against OKW: Maxims > M5/T70 > SU76s > Howitzer. EVERY SINGLE TIME. M5 T70 is fast enough to get away from Puppchens and Shreks, Maxims require Stuka but then the M5 and T70 rape infantry, SU76s come so early and in droves the P4 and Panther suffer, and the Howitzer makes the late game miserable.

Well obviously it's one that no other faction gets. Asymmetry, ya know? No other faction can reinforce squad weapons like soviet cons can, etc. etc.
If OKW have an ability that is never used, then a good case can be made that they should receive some other buff, or be reduced in cost, because as it stands they are paying for a useless ability.
Please note that I am not actually arguing or this, just pointing out an implication of the debate.
The Volks anti cold cost is useless in 3/4 of the maps anyway, but still their shrek costs 90 munis. |
