I hate the ISU.
It's combination of AI and AT ability just makes it retarded. It's a crutch for bad players. |
Add me. Definitely would be nice to have a teammate every once in a while rather than constantly doing random 2v2's!

As was said, they should be suppressed when the smoke lands. And once it does, you have the ability to displace without them knowing that you are doing so, at least initially.
As long as you have some type of support with your MG, which you should always have, it should be able to reposition with no issues.
I also find that if you have two MG teams that overlap fire arcs in some cases, it helps a lot against the US. |
Good machine gun placement is usually the key. Most OKW infantry don't have anything to negate machine guns, i.e. smoke grenades, so they have to either find some way to flank the position, or hammer it with indirect fire.
As long as you are constantly displacing your crews, you shouldn't have too many problems. |
I think they will. Especially if they have their "5-year plan", as they said they had. We just need to play the waiting game. It'll come eventually.
If it isn't the Pershing, it will be something else that we will all enjoy I'm sure. I would be okay with either the Pershing or Rangers to be honest. I miss those bastards. |
No it's not lolcake. I asked a simple question. It was frustrating when it happened and it seemed like there weren't any real extenuating circumstances that led to my Obers losing.
So I just wondered what your thoughts on the balance of shock troops were. No I didn't provide any proof, but why bother posting if you're just going to be sarcastic?
Got it, made a mistake. End the thread |
Maybe it is just me, but shock troops are ridiculous. I had a vet 4 Obersoldaten squad with the infrared Stg44's getting obliterated by vet 1 shock troops AT RANGE. The Obersoldaten, especially with the upgraded 44's, and ESPECIALLY vet 4, should wipe the floor with shocks, yes?
I don't understand this game. And no, I was not in red cover, we were both in yellow. |
Yeah it is pretty bad. Several times I've had allies drop just because they would lose 1 or 2 squads.
As said above, best thing to do would be to find a reliable teammate that you could AT with. |
I've had some success with the Elite Troops doctrine against the US. I mainly build two MG's, depending on the map, and 1 gren squad. Then I get the sniper, and use troop training to vet 2 him. With vet 2, he has longer sight and range, and can also use his stun ability. I find the stun ability really helps the micro challenge because it allows you to get out of situations where they may be charging you with their riflemen.
Typically, the MG's can be effective enough, as long as you are constantly aware of their movements. With smoke grenades, they are pretty much useless, but quick displacement allows you to fend off any charge they may be doing through the smoke.
I still think the balance in this matchup is bad, but it is somewhat beatable as Wehr, as long as you are really on top of your game, or if your opponent is really off theirs. |
I am always amazed of how many war historians there are on this forum.
Agreed. I'm learning so much lol. |
