Maybe shall I teach you not frontally engaging vetted StuG with medium?
I expect StuGs to beat medium armor, I'm just not sure it's a good thing that a vet 1 StuG getting one shot off means the medium is guaranteed to die. Honestly, not sure. I mean I'm not an expert player - maybe it's balanced. I don't know. It just seems wrong to me.
edit -
On the other hand, I love rolling up to SU-85s, Shermans, etc, clicking TWP and on them, and then yelling "STUG LIFE!" as the allied tank blows up. |
Enough one click stupid wipe, ya?
Isn't TWP basically the "one click destroy medium" ability?
|
Right now TWP means the StuG can hit a bit above its weight, in my opinion (thoughts on this?). It's a balanced ability on PAKs because they're stationary but it's a little too much on something that can roll around. Also, the StuG used to be more of an assault gun, a role it no longer performs because it got made into a tank destroyer. That switch is totally fine and made it a more viable unit, but with TWP being a little too strong (maybe?) and the StuG no longer being an assault gun... maybe it'd work to take out TWP and give the StuG some kind of SU-76 style barrage, thus reducing its ability to guarantee kill allied medium armor, and giving it a little assault gun flavor?

Panzer Tactician lets you escape from bad micro and over extensions, whereas launched smoke, Sherman style, gives you more tactical options without providing a "get out of jail free card" because launched smoke requires some foresight and planning. For many things this would actually be a buff because it would allow Ost vehicles to support infantry pushes.
Thoughts? |
Is there anything really that wrong with Volks getting less useful as the game goes on? The same thing happens with conscripts. Both can build sand bags. Volks at least have the potential to become potent against tanks - they are the largest shrek wielding squad in the game. |
For the same reason grens have LMG and cons have nothing.
Just get any doctrine with recon and stuka and laugh at all attempts at howis, like all other axis players.
Wouldn't you say though that is a bad dynamic? I don't think one axis player using CAS should automatically negate all allied artillery emplacements in two clicks with no possibility for counter play. Nothing wrong with certain doctrines countering certain other doctrines, but it shouldn't be that extreme, and usually it isn't. For instance, Elefant doctrines counter other heavy tank doctrines, but it's not like going Jaeger armor means automatic death for IS2s.
IMO emplacements should be able to survive one stuka dive bomb with a sliver of health but should somehow be a little more vulnerable to stock means of dealing with them. Not sure how you'd achieve that. exclude theme from base sector maybe? I guess that might not work either because you could put them one inch outside of it.
I realize though from the history of patch notes that Relic is very intent on Stuka dive bomb being a one shot kill for arty so I guess that's not gonna change. |
We have a prime example of the tail wagging the dog here. The change is incredibly beneficial for balance, diversity of available strategies and the maturity of the faction, opening new doors previously closed to both the players who had the commander and those who didn't have him. You want to take this away from us because... what? What is the perceived benefit of reverting this change, that justifies losing what we just gained?
No one is asking for the change to be reverted. Thank you for posting without reading any content in the thread. |
OMG RERIK! I WUZ GIVN FREE PREMIUM PANZOR! COMPENSATE NAU PLOX!!!one!1!
I know English isn't your strong point but this is a low quality post even for you
@NorthWeapon
This kind of mentality may actually scare Relic because it can be seriously. So I demand immediate stop of this protest because it will hinder Relic's ability to "upgrade" the game via balance patch
Demand? A little untitled of you, isn't that?
None of the analogies you made involve moving anything to paid DLC. Nice try, though. |
Eh. I don't get it.
OKW stock army is in itself a Paid DLC item...
How many people actually think they are getting ripped off? And who cares anyways, just wait month for another 50-75% off sale and get elite armored commander for a buck or two. Not that big of a deal.
Yes, but in my opinion, the DLC content you have access to should always just be the DLC content you paid for, and not determined by balance changes. If a balance change requires sending you used to have access to getting sent to other paid DLC there should be some kind of compensation for that. |
OP doesn't seem like he's trying to be obnoxious or troll, they just don't understand that PIV and Sturmtiger swap is nothing but good for the OKW and makes the faction much better to play. I think that far outweighs any QQ about $4.99 DLC that can be obtained via warspoils.
I truly don't understand how people can afford a gaming PC, internet connection, $60 base game etc as a hobby and get all worked up over something like this. If you want access to Sturmtiger SO bad just buy it.
For the first point, see earlier posts in the thread.
For the second, AFAIK no one has complained that they can't afford it ... just like I could afford to pay Creative Assembly $9.99 in order to continue using Trebuchets in M2TW, but I would be annoyed at having to do so, even if it was part of a change that greatly improved game play.
Turning this around, Relic can also afford to send out a store credit... |
