If you use a stürmtiger well, it won't even reach vet 1 before the game is over.
It's a sturmtiger. It doesn't need any vet to wipe squads. And tanks xD
Also vet 1 is silly. I don't think I've ever, ever used it. Even when I've had vet 2 sturmies kicking around.
the honest truth is you need to target vehicles with it to vet it up. Try hitting an ISU some day; if it's a little rough around the edges you could well get a wipe. |
Yeah, the officer is mostly there to give the passive buff. His barrage only really shines when you have werfers or field howitzers, at which point he can do serious numbers on your opponent by bypassing your usual cooldown restrictions.
In the bygone days of beta, I seem to recall his ability actually called units within 150% of their usual targeting range, or some such. Did I make that up? And is it still a thing? |
Trust me when I say that some OKW units very rarely hitting vet 5 is a very, very good thing.
As a 2v2 player, command panthers + troop training (or just keeping it alive) to vet 5 makes the game silly, silly broken.
Not only is all your OKW stuff vet 5 fighting vet 3 (yes I know it's not a perfect symmetry, but w/e), but now every unit your team has also gets to benefit from a bunch of command panther bonuses. The aura on that thing is just so big once it vets up that most 2v2 maps you can net your entire force, and your ally, at the same time.
The super kick in the teeth is that troop training nets you a Tiger Ace in the same commander, which with a vet 5 command panther is just unbelievably filthy. |

Does TWP not work on deflection damage any more? I was under the impression the Brummbarr had that going for it. Could well be wrong, though.
Regardless- with the penetration on most Ost guns, and the armour of most allied vehicles, penetrating is rarely a problem. So long as it goes through, the end result is still buttoning but on un-interruptable steroids. |
with the ost arty officier i cant get the 80 ammo arty down. it drops the smoke it pays the ammo but not 1 barage is comming down
It is not a barrage in and of itself.
All available indirect fire units within range will fire at his target. If you have no units on hand, it won't do anything. |

Button: Negatable, does no damage itself, range limit, easy to accidentally cancel, vehicles can still move at a very slow pace
Target weak point: Best thing ever
Yeah, I've no qualms with this |
M8 is a canister shot delivery system. Think of it as the penal squad of the USF.
You use it to run up, burn some munitions and wipe a squad.
Anything else it does is a happy bonus.
Balanced? Probably not. Giving the main gun some more whack and toning down canister would seem sensible. |
I'm looking for a mediocre 2v2 player. Must occasionally crash his computer, and must think conscript spam is a fantastic idea. Please message me so I can grumble as I try carry you in high ELO games.
(Addendum: None of this is true) |
Heavy tanks are no problem for the USF.
Jackson, as before, is a wonderful tool with a spotting swuad. At vet 1 and above it can solo Tigers with no problems.
Never underestimate the power of your AT gun, either. Vet 1 gives it the range for a one off muni cost and popping the British rounds makes its pen go through the roof (vet 3 + HVAP = reliably pen KT front armour)
Zooks are Zooks, take 'em or leave 'em, but never underestimate the utility of an extra 100/200 damage on a tank from a captain squad mid fight. |
I think the only thing Ass Engies really need is a little extra effective range on their grease guns.
Currently they start to drop off even faster than a shock troop PPSH. That's some damn close quarters you need to be to get your full damage output. |
