2v2 is a very different animal than 1v1 already, not in the least because you have a much higher density of units on the field which makes flanking rather more difficult. That being said, the 42 is a poor performer in 2v2 as well. Try 1v1, its rewarding, believe me.
Tried 1v1's. No harder than 2v2, just a lot, lot more boring.
Regardless. MG42 behaves admirably in 2v2 and up every time I use them. Giving that 1v1 is the least played game mode in CoH2, any particular reason we should feel the need to break a unit for the majority of the player base to appease a minority that can't support their MG's properly, apparently? |
What would you know?Have even played a single match as ostheer 1 vs 1?I suggest u do before passing judgement.I know ur used to ur autowins vs ost,but try to make an effort.
Ah yes, of course, I forgot that MG42's magically get a 20% buff in all stats the moment that they get transported into the world of 2v2 and are therefore a completely different unit I am completely incapable of passing judgement on.
How silly of me. |
Certainly it must be too much for staff of even a private site to maintain a semblance of professionalism no?
You're a goddamn moderator, put your personal preferences for the Allied factions aside and don't go trying to personally attack users of this site.
It's a private site. They can do whatever they want. You're not paying your tax dollah into CoH2.org, you have literally no say in the matter, enjoy your irrelevance with the rest of us c: |
But on the other hand, there are those that want a 240MP unit to stop dead 1500MP of infantry, that might also be expending munitions in the combat
DOn't be silly. MG42 stronkest MG in all of spacetime. SHould fore over hole map at 199999999rpm with 122mm shells 4 glorios 3rd reich.
Sarcasm aside, nothing much to say I haven't already. Stopping by to tell you that pinning units in cover is supposed to take ages (because they are in cover) seems like wasted breath when considering what most of the posts in here are like. It's almost like, you know. There was cover involved. Mad, right?
Pinning happens to troops in open ground. Suppression happens to troops with things to hide behind, who just duck into their sodding cover. Sensible and reasonable, neither of which are commonly found in buff MG42 threads. |
I'd quite like to see something with a focus similar to that that the OKW has to deal with. Similar but not the same.
Commonwealth inclusion is an obvious go to, so there's that. Plenty of vehicle and weapon designs and manpower support from all the British territories.
But I'd also like a real focus in the tech structure towards long time preservation of units and retrofitting, specifically in the armour department.
Unlike Russia and to a certain extent Gremany, the UK had a very small landmass with which to produce vehicles. They couldn't just churn out prototype designs every other day, and there was a lot of fitting old hulls with equipment as and when it was needed. Either back home by adapting an old hull to a new armament, on on the field by just welding whatever you could find into the damn thing.
The ability, for example, to start the game with a very early Churchill I tank. Expensive but available quickly, as it comes with all the glory of a 2pdr and a fixed traverse 3in gun in the hull. If it survives my teching attempts, bring it back to base and replace the turret to make it a Churchill III or IV, and with a little patience for my fourth tech tier I can then retrofit that with a 75mm gun and (slightly in the face of reality) adapt the hull into a Mk VII. Commanders, perhaps, could offer the option for upgrading that into a Crocodile or an AVRE or adding a mine plough.
Or tanks like the Valentine. Sure, keep it alive, up the gun to a 6pdr or a 75mm. Keep it alive late into the game and you can adapt it to the late game with a 17pdr in a superstructure, giving you a heavy AT platform on the reasonably cheap. Which also happens to go faster in reverse, as the gun is mounted backwards, so to speak.
What I never ever want to see again is another unit that gives area buffs and vet equivalents. Just let my infantry vet up like normal. Ideally to vet 4 or 5, given how long the Brits had been in the war. Make the exhausted Brits and the exhausted OKW nice counterparts to one another on the battered western front. Releasing them at the same time would have been a bit samey, but by now I reckon we're ready. |
ITT: Players too lazy / stupid to build an AT gun. Or use smoke + demo / satchel charges.
The schwerer was buffed after the alpha changes, it's a faction strength of the OKW. But allies fanboys fail to understand that.
Satchels + Smoke requires T1 and T2 and three squads of penals and well over 100 munitions
AT guns require LoS (enjoy getting your spotter murdered) or are going to miss 24/7 and the OKW player has bloody hours to bring troops over to just repair it, or beat off the offensive.
We know damn well it's a strength. What we ask is why the hell they get it for teching when nobody else gets such a thing and it's so much anathema to the game design, ruins gameplay and has no justifiable reason to exist now OKW are not required to lock down sectors for resource income.
Even tanks get ruined by the almighty effort of just placing a Racketenwerfer on perma flack truck guard duty. |
Anyway, whatever, after the end of this month, OKW will be nerfed even below ground. No more truck push, screcks become sucks, Ober becomes trash, etc. And USF will become OP like crazy, best Allies fanboy wet dream will come true.
So essentially, it'll be like trying to play against the OKW is now?
About turn someone else had a turn. |
Early game con spam can punish OKW very hard due to Volks poor performance against infantry.
I don't know what world you're in where volks preform poorly, but it's not the one I'm in, where they all shoot much better than conscripts do. Pick one off while they advance to close range and you're set. Also, 5mp cheaper a squad, and a free sturmpio unit to stand behind them and close in if the cons come swarming |
So, what you're saying, if I'm right, and so correct me if I'm wrong...
Is that when the Brits go live... They're commanded by a lady called Wingates they're going to have a two man Alucard/Seras squad?
Count me right the garden in for that pudding. |
Welcome to a 240mp unit with a huge cone of fire that can now deny an entire lane of many maps against 1000MP+.
Balance so gud. |
