At the beginning of the game, you cant tell if they will go T1 or T2.
Getting 2 sturms off the bat against T1 can be bad for mp.
Just get 1 volk, 1 kubel, then u can adapt after an encounter. |
The most reliable way is just double mgs with several grens (get several lmg upgrades too). The only way US can counter are grenades (smoke) and light vehicles. Use the pioneer as a capper or close range support (keep them close to mg42s to soak in damage). You can even get flamethrowers on them.
Then get a pak for reliable AT, and a T3 vehicle to push. T2 vehicles are less effective, but T3 performs very well against US.

This is true.
Another problem is that the unit icons are too big. It can be difficult to see/select overlapping icons on the tactical map.
The tactical map is a great feature, and I bind it to the "`" button, always toggling it on/off to check everything.
With smaller unit icons, it would make it more usable to select units to zoom the map to them and see what units are there. |
The essence shows OKW as having the "best equipment" in small quantities, they are shown as mainly resource scarce.
They are poorer quality than the versatile Ostheer army overall. They have mg34s, lack panzerfausts, rely on light vehicles mostly until heavies come in etc.
Allowing them to spawn out of buildings wouldn't make sense, since they aren't "infiltrating" nor would they have the skills to do so. They would similar to ostruppen, with some utility like fausts. But they probably wont get made due to the actual history behind them. |
You rarely get to play as the Germans in WWII games, so the allied perspective gets boring/repetitive. The Germans simply had a cooler & more modern army/theme too.
The Soviets have nice tanks and heavy tanks (is2, t34/85) but their T1/T2 gameplay is sometimes too gimmicky and cheese (spam several m3 flamers or spam several hmgs, etc). |
The DSHK weapon can't even be targeted to be destroyed too. That's another bug. |
Having the same firepower as grenadiers wouldn't be good for soviets.
It would be nice if there was an lmg upgrade or something though, to match their firepower. Realistically that was the way to even the firepower, since Americans have semiautomatic rifles. |
They might be similar to PE too, and have a wide range of 250 vehicles available for use (eg mortar, At gun, command radios), rather than the 251 transport truck which ostheer and westheer have.
