Would it be fair to suggest that Blitz could be delayed to Vet-2, while The Vet-2 Armored skirts could be moved to Vet-1? Then the HP-Pool + Damage + Range Increase could come at Vet-3?
This would give the Panzer IV's some more longevity, Panthers, a little more longevity on the battlefield unless the users are careless. (Not sure about Tigers) But it seems like a compromise at least. |
These beautifully majestic and lethal creatures are pack hunters, capable of consuming 3x their weight in Allied carcasses. |
The Panther does indeed get nice range, and even more impressive range with veterancy, but most other German tanks have pitiful range, especially the Tiger and King Tiger.
Just because mechanical failures were reported, does not mean they happened all the time. They happened enough to be considered an issue with the tank design, but not enough to have them completely pulled from service. (Logic)
Also Tiger Tanks were outfitted with 88mm cannons.. so (Largest gun on a German tank right there.)
Jagdtiger and the King Tiger both have the same 88mm used by the PaK-43.
They would have not only been able to maintain their amazing range (Since German optics were the best throughout the war.) They were also able to maintain their penetration (Even against IS-2) They shouldn't deflect as often as they do.
@Mr. Someguy that's just it isn't it? It is up to debate, many sources say that the Panther was the first modern MBT. Other sources claim different.
The Panther was reclassified as a Medium Tank after the war, though during the war, it was actually considered a heavy tank!
I stick to my original statement though, the Tiger, King Tiger, and other thanks have pathetic range, on top of their poor sight radii and slow speeds, it's kind of insulting. The only saving graces are the hard hitting guns and thick armor + HP pools through the armor, and the hard hitting guns still deflect off of the IS-2! |
That's actually not a good enough reason. In Coh1, all off map abilities cost munitions (unless you count overdrive for the Cromwell). In Coh2, relic has added abilities that cost fuel. (The "breakthrough" ability for the encirclement doctrine). Munitions for abilities may be the norm, but that does not mean that it is the rule. If you have evidence (such as a statement) from a dev or other relic employee that no abilities are allowed to cost fuel, then I will accept that conclusion.
I personally have started playing lots of OKW since WFA, and I believe that combat blitz and blitz need a rework overall, as they are just stupid broken in terms of the cost/ function of their useage. It is an ability which allows one to take the best armored units in the game, and then give them both a "get out of jail free card" and a way to chase own wounded enemy armor that does not benefit from such bonuses. It even flat out negates the advantage that allied armor supposedly has, which is mobility.
It is an interesting debate really, because historically the Germans broke massive ground with their tanks which provided a perfect mix of mobility and protection. While the Soviets did have a sloped turret design with their tanks that provided protection benefits, they were often very vulnerable. (Lack of radios for communication for the T-34/76) and many weaknesses around the tracks/wheels, and their small-ish- caliber guns)
The Panther was extremely fast, powerful, and well armored for its time, it is lauded as the "First Modern MBT". They even were issued Infrared Optics to work in tandem with the Uhu-Infrared Spotlight Halftrack(Eye of Sauron - Halftrack) For nigh-time operations.
I'd be more than willing to say that the overdrive could use a rework if German tanks could make more efficient use of their guns. The most important thing being that their tanks had high velocity guns that allowed them to fire at extreme ranges and still maintain powerful penetration against other armored vehicles.
As it stands most German tanks don't hit or do reliable damage unless they are at punching distance.. many don't even fire unless they are in punching distance. |
A round of applause for you, that is actually a pretty good suggestion.
Because as per Company of Heroes design, even back in vCoH, all "abilities" cost munitions. It's already been suggested and the reasons have been stated as to why it won't work that way. |
Blitz was nerf (changed) pre-WFA and unnerf during WFA
whats up relic??

Actually.. it's fine as it is. Seems to be the only thing that can effectively kill shock troops according to that GIF! |
I'd rather save for a Puma, since kübels can already reliably stop inf. If he has AT guns, both the Flak and Kübel have no chance.
A zis can still attack ground through the smoke, and any competent player can and will use this.
Had my Puma run a suicide mission, killed a priest through smoke by attacking ground where I thought it was going to be since I couldn't see it. Nailed it, died by Jackson + ATG fire. |
A FHQ is the only thing that can keep allies in the game on maps like these. OKW gets FHQs in their tech structure and can even convert it to a retreat point. The OKW FHQs also can't be countered 7 minutes into the game.
Also, I don't expect you to know this Sierra, seeing as you have never even touched the allied factions in this game and have instead only cruised easymode Axis in team games, but the only way in which allies have the slightest chance against the axis rape machine is when they abuse the shit out of cheesy strategies.
Actually you're very, very wrong.
My teams have been defeated several times by non-cheese strats that were very, very creative and in the end required no abuse or cheese whatsoever. It was refreshing every time. |
ok?
Like do you actually watch the replays, or do you just troll through replay threads, read the chatlogs and then make some smarmy comment every time to satiate your troll lust?
My comments wouldn't seem so "stupid" put into context of what is happening within the replay as well as based on voice chat over teamspeak. "Sovieshits" being the derogatory term I coined for Soviet players, and then anyone with half a braincell would be able to bring up "Americunt" for American army players.
The point is that it's not often the armies that my opponents play for the game, but the way they CHOOSE to play. Often like complete and utter douchers, relying upon cheese strats/tactics and obviously overly strong units or abilities. Not to win, but often just to annoy the hell out of their opponents. |
its pretty funny how you find it necessary to make some dumb comment every game.
Reported for trolling/flaming. |
