I'd recommend you to see how it is on the other side. Play USF, try it for yourself.
I did for a time,and vs ostheer it was easy.Like i said all u have to do is use shift click to attack with ur rifles from different angles.Ur crush him just by numbers due to mp tech disparity and pure dps of rifles.Light vehicle is clincher. |
No, I see you are having trouble with this so let me make it simple for you.
If you want to win a Gren v Rifleman engagement, engage at range.
If you want to lose, let them get close.
How do you stop them from closing,ur gren DPS is not enough to wipe out squads attempting to close and u don't have a close range grenade.On top of that there are maps.Reason that i only use g43 doctrines these days,even then results are avg at best.You can't tiptoe around the problem of huge MP disparity in teching no matter how much u try.Ostheer is the weakest faction allround,not many will dispute this fact. |
I play nearly only wehrmacht,and this in my view are the problems -
Main problem - Teching structure MP costs
USF does 2 things.It puts MP pressure directly by ceaseless rifle attacks ,on top of this u need to tech asap to fight off light vehicle which takes up moore mp.
If u must then invest in a 320 mp pak,thats even more crunch.Or 340 mp pzgren with 120 muni(no lmgs for grens)
On top of this he will get free unit for teching.
How do you compete with that?Just crushed by numbers.
Trademark unit mg4 2-value very limited.No dmg -enemy will kill u while suppressed by grenade or lmg..then whats the point?
Too easily avoided by smoke.
Unreliable suppression speed.
Bad mobility and risk of being taken.When its all of the above-why bother?
Snipers - Outcapped and terribly vulnerable once light vehicle hits field.
Faction has no mobility and just tries to stay alive desperately,defeating wehr is a walk for usf if player knows how to shift move rifles from diff angles.
I repeat main problem is teching cost and result difference in MP terms. |
Multiple ostheer commanders need rework as well to make them viable.We need more doctrines with stormtroopers -especially in the infantry doctrines. |
pak43 -500 mp.No reason why lefh shouldn't be.
I think ostheer ones at least are just in bad doctrines without any good support options -no armor,no panzer tactician,no g43s or stormtroopers etc.The only useable one is joint ops with pak43,recon and arty officer. |
Kills tiger easily,panther won't win 1 vs 1 unless u get behind it.Its an enormous problem in teamgames if usf player suports with jackson.375 armor is too much as it makes pz 4 instantly obsolete.Tiger doesn't make t-34 obsolete.Way too much health and armour now with pak nerf for same price as tiger.
My best counter is mines plus panther/pak.Or pak43.
Its a intimidating tank to be honest ingame,especially if there are 2 its like immortals. |
Heavy tanks(including KT)-one at a time.E8 and t-34/85 11 cp.Problem solved.Stock tanks can operate for quite a bit of time then.No hordes OF IS-2 OR TIGER SIMPLY BULLDOZING FORWARD. |
There is no second small arms weapon with dps as huge as incendiary rounds MG42 on close range, even obers are far behind. And even without incendiary ammo it does 27.5 dps.
Means nothing as vet 1 won't be available earlygame,And due to huge reload animation.Your sneaky attempt at circumventing the problem is noted with amusement as usual. |
Have Grens engage enemy.
While the enemy is fighting your grens, move your MG in and set up.
Oh look, the enemy cant fight your grens now because suppression.
Sounds like your just leaving it alone and expect it to handle the squads that walk into its arc of fire.
No sounds like ur assuming automatically i'm noob.Been using mg42 since 2007.Never been so weak as now.I already do what ur saying.Except its easier said than done against sound players.I never LEAVE it alone,without LOS its even shittier than it already is.Right now even covering a flank ,or avenue of approach seems too much to ask from this due to grenade while suppressed or slow traverse/reloading or smoke. |
This unit has become a laughing stock.
Problem 1 - Mobility.Ok maybe,always was that way.
Problem 2 - Speed at which it suppresses inconsistent.
Problem 3 - BIGGEST PROBLEM-deals no damage.Suppressed squads crawl forward with impunity knowing they can take it just enough for a grenade/molotov,then run away.Result-even after succesfully suppressing the squad i lost more models than he did.WTF.Suppressed squads know they can just lie there and take it.
Problem 4 - Too easily avoided.Smoke for rifles,Urrah for conscripts.Since it can't kill models at any pace mg 42 is only useful vs blind frontal blob charge and nothing else.Suppressed squads know they can grenade or smoke and deal with it without any problems.
When u combine all these problems you have the current dismal unit adding to the woes of ostheer earlygame.So much for the most feared infantry weapon of ww2 and wehrmacht's trademark unit.Disgrace. |
