How are you supposed to play Semoiskiy, I have no idea. I play Ostheer favourite and I hate camping. This map is a mystery to me, only one I veto, because when I don't I get it every game and lose. |
Tiger is best anti USF weapon? It's the best anti everything weapon. It's carrying ostheer, and therein lies the problem. Remove the tiger and Ost are broken, so we can say at least they need a bit of a redesign. |
The problem isn't as exaggerated as it seems.
Basically, team games are a meat market night club and allies are girls showing lots of cleavage. The bouncers let the girls in faster whilst the guys have to queue longer. Inside the club its 50:50 but outside the guys waiting in line outnumber the busty girls by quite a lot.
In more rational terms, e.g. you have 600 axis players and 500 allies players. 400 from each are in game, so you have 200 axis and 100 allies waiting. so you have like 55% axis players in total but when seaching it says 66% axis. I'm sure in reality there aren't such huge numbers of difference in the player base.

The thing is you shouldn't skip t3, but you still should transition to t4 eventually. Ostheer t3 is great, but it peaks in effectiveness. You're better off building 1-2 t3 units and then teching than you are building 3-4. A panther is worth its weight in stugs or pziv's when it comes to tank combat.
This might be a good idea and how it's supposed to work but it's better to transition into Tiger than T4 in most cases. It's all down to call ins being too good for all factions. |
While I agree that Wehr is the hardest faction atm. you are exaggerating.
The only thing that needs fixing is T4, Panzergrenadiers, StuGs and the doctrinal Elefant and Pak43.
Good:
The MG42 is sufficient imo.
So are Grens with the LMG upgrade.
Paks are the best AT gun.
Bad:
Brummbär, Panther, Panzerwerfer.
Did the StuG get a nerf btw.? It can hardly hit infantry any longer.
Pak43 and Elefant need more range.
Then the game is perfect.
Good summary. TWP on pak needs fixing though. Stug still the same in my last games, but I never found it super strong vs infantry just pretty good (~ 1 cons models per shot). |
I'm starting to think the main problem is not the price, even though it costs a bit too much to get to T4 for Ostheer.
It's the fact that you have to invest incrementally to tech up (also including pio build time). This is then opportunity cost and adds up to the difference of maybe having one extra pak or Pgren schreck squad on the field (assuming you can afford the munis). People saying that you can stall with T2 units until you get a panther are either being unrealistic or are economic wizards. If you are going call in heavy you can float a bit until you get the CPs because the callin is instant. As Ost you cant float, you need to invest as soon as possible to get to T4 in a timely manner.
Even if you are floating as Soviet or Elite Rifle US you can still buy a unit if required and then wait the extra 90 seconds to get that 300 munis back and get an instant call in. The timings are out of line.
US and OKW also pay incrementally for tech but not to the same extent that Ostheer does, they also don't lose builder time. Soviets lose builder (CE) time but they only build 2 buildings and don't pay for research.
What I mean to say it's harder for Ostheer to tech up because you need to keep investing in Battle Phases or buildings. So you don't have as much opportunity to spend money on units.
As an analogy, if you go to a bank and say 'I will give you 1000 euros in 10 months, or if you prefer, I will give you 100 euros per month for the next 10 months' they would much much prefer to have the money in installments. Paying up front is more valuable and costly. |
I would prefer a time to call (training time)rather than delaying by CPs. The tanks come then maybe a minute later but you spent the resources so opportunity cost is different. The biggest problem is that call ins lead to a spammy and cheesy meta, mabye its not unbalanced but it's not fun.
Something similar to the cooldown they put on elite rifles. I think that was a good balancing mechanic, only the E8 in that doctrine now is a bit of a no brainer to call in. That being said, when I've skipped general I find myself missing the option to get a Jackson. |
I guess you mean Osttruppen? I can believe that 4 squads can't kill a Rifleman squad.
Ostheer really does have quite a few obsolete units. I'm a bit baffled that they seem to have been forgotten about. |
Angermuende hasn't been in 4v4 auto since WFA release, but it's still in 3v3 I believe. They are just rotating through maps, maybe altering them a bit in the mean time.
Unless you are talking about customs etc. |
Well Ostheer are quite good despite not having a T4. I know obviously they do but nobody ever builds it. I think they only need it to add more diversity to the game.
Ost are similar to the new factions, they only have one less usable doctrine. Ost have 5 Tiger docs and USF and OKW each have 6 docs. So it's not too bad. |
