I feel like allies are stronger now in 3vs3/4vs4 than they have ever been, the blitz truck nerf and panther cost increase has a lot to do with that and has made axis somewhat counterable late game. While Soviets I find are quite strong, Americans though are defiantly underpowered in 3vs3/4vs4 thanks to their lack of heavy armour, artillery (the priest is nowhere near as effective as the B4) and general teiring structure that makes early MG/Mortar cheese to lock down fuel points non-viable.
Of course once the game gets to the point where OH/OKW have multiple Tigers, Jagdtigers and stukas there is no coming back, but they are still very vulnerable past the 20min mark if you have an organized team.

They were asked to be DLC lol. Relic only made them available in the store because people were asking for them to be available in the store. You can get them by just playing the game by the way, you don't need to buy them.

I just hate the fact how the three extra commanders for WFA are DLC unlike the vanilla game, I mean come on relic putting DLC in DLC upon release is going a bit far.. |
Back in WFA alpha it was conceivable to rush for a Sturmtiger while relying on volks and obers alone, not really doable anymore though now that OKW infantry has been nerfed and the teiring costs made more expensive.
I hardly use it, but I suppose it can still be useful in certain situations late game just as a pure battering ram. I would imagine a stuka being more effective for wiping out ZiS/Maxim spam but I think a sturmtiger gives you much better blob control since it's harder to dodge (sometimes just aiming the gun and cancelling is enough to force a mass retreat). |
I once tried to use the doctrine just for the conversion and the railway arty. And I must say that it is quite terrible: 200 ammo, only 3 shells, slow, inaccurate. Plus once you use it once they will know it is the same arty over and over again and therefore just move out of the way. I thought it could be a redeeming factor, how wrong I was.
Rail arty will spell insta death for any static artillery piece, it works quite well against KV-2's also. I've never used it outside of that though. |
I generally like building an extra squad against soviets to guard against the typical T2 into shock play, they will need backup against the latter unit but two or so sturm squads can give you some much needed DPS until you get T4 up for obers (especially if you pick a doctrine with no infantry like Special Operations/Elite armour).

Just a question about this, I used it a few times when it was free. The PzIVs were said to have a random amount of experience, I'm assuming some could come already vetted.(?) Every time I called them in (about 3-4 times) they never had any vet.
Correct, it's very random though.
I think this doctrine is kinda useless. P4 came too late if you compare it with Wehrmacht, also the abilities are not that good, Panzer IV Call in is also bullshit, because they should have the side skirts directly. (Should be the Panzer IV Ausf. H or J) so this was standard equipment.
210 fuel? Well, at that time you should have a Panther out or wait for the Kingtiger.
Only good thing is maybe the Commander + HEAT rounds. All in all it should be reworked.
I think the P4's should be left alone, they are kinda unique as they stand and I like that. imo the call in should be reduced to one so you can actually afford some versatility, 210 fuel is still very steep. |
I have had this problem since WFA dropped, seemingly no issues before but now upon start up I will get some pretty noticeable lag for the first 30 seconds (which will happen every game without fail). Then as the game will go on I will get this exact "stop and catch up" lag, it seems to happen at the worst of times too. |
Anyone have any advice or a general BO for how to use this commander? I got it from a drop a week or so back but I'm still struggling to use it properly.
The first thing I thought was negating T4 and relying on the off map P4 call in for armour, but this provides one major problem in that it deducts obersoldatan from your army and the doctrine itself has no infantry call ins to make up for it.
I don't know, so far I'm thinking:

They do more dps at close range than fallshrm and panzerfussilars.
They still get melted by bar rifleman or shocks up close and even 30.cal rifles at range, then you are forced to shell out another 165mp to reinforce a single squad.
Also to the guy that said they "only" cost 290mp so you can spam them and just suicide them, you are still throwing away 290mp. You will lose by attrition even faster than reinforcing by doing that. |
