Thread: Osttruppen Doctrine19 Oct 2015, 22:59 PM It does feel a bit like rorkes drift fighting off the hordes. try and rush the most important building on maps like la glaize with your initial IS (because you won't be able to dislodge them otherwise), also you can get a trench or two in good locations (middle of the map in crossing, minsk, langres etc), ghost sandbag all the important green cover and hold your corner of the map until centaur. Just remember to get a 6 pounder in time for the flamer HT, because it will wipe your entire army otherwise. When the patch hits in a couple of weeks it will be a lot easier with the buffed Wasp and reduction in IS reinforce. Ostruppen are pretty hard to counter atm unless you straight up outplay your opponent, simply due to the bleed on IS. In: UKF Strategies

The KV-1 being a survivor along with the sherman, I bet you when the next patch hits we will see a whole lot more of them rather than (the current OP) KV-8's. To speed up the vet rates of certain units without redoing the entire vet system. Seems like that would make it a lot easier to control from a balance perspective instead of taking a hammer to the whole vet system and chancing screwing up the whole balance. this needs to be done, I just played a 30 min match where my MG34 was firing at vet rifles the entire game only to end with 5 kills and vet 2. KV-1 is doctrinal, CP8 and doesn't need tech. Brits don't even have anything comparable. Give me counter-attack for brits and I would use it over commando reg or artillery reg every game. I don't think so jim I only bother upgrading one or two squads for the repairs, mobility is everything in this game (especially 1vs1's). l2p OP, blobbing as brits is just dumb. The croc also is able to shoot a formidable gun. The KV-8 main gun that can be toggled is complete garbage. It MIGHT be able to kill a kube, even that I doubt. It does exactly the same flamer damage as the croc at a much cheaper price, pop cap and is faster to boot with a flamer turret. The KV-8 maingun can already kill pumas and PII's. If anything the KV-8 is now the strongest cost to performance flamer vehicle in the game. The KV-8 sits in the perfect middle ground between price, health and excels in mobility. I would advise against building a wasp as it leaves you more open to 222's and the flamer HT. Maybe this will change next patch but early game is pretty messed up with brits atm. Mortar emplacement is too fragile and expensive to be worth it and is more of a luxury. Try and get some trenches in good locations that will help you hold map control against Ostruppen and MG's, get a sniper or two and an AT gun and try and hold out until centaur. In: UKF Strategies
