AEC functions as a generalist that leans towards AT, and Stuart is the opposite in my opinion.

If the P2 arrived a few minutes later at similar timing and had the same lethality as a T70, it wouldn't be ok.

The main issue with the T70 in my eyes is its ability to easily wipe squads on retreat/its accuracy on the move.

T70 is probably the WORST unit in the game in killing retreat squads, the scatter is massive, you probably keep retreating squads when they are on the last man and never have anything to cover them.

I lost count of how many times I chased squads across entire maps and didn't manage to kill a single model. Just change you play style.

What about placing Guards Rifles from Lend Lease instead of Shocks in some doctrines for more difference in doctrines and a bit different gameplay?
Guard Rifles are actually pretty cool and useful when I played with them, they have 4 SVT-40 rifles, which makes them pretty good at medium range and at close, also considering they have 2 PPShs and vet up pretty fast if you let them survive, and they're like...Shocks, really, just look and play a bit differently.

To make them different from them a bit more so people don't just think they are Reskined shocks, they could be upgraded with 2 PTRS rifles (Guards type) instead of these PPShs, that cost 70-80 munitions, or give them PPShs for the rest of the squad, with AT Snares or Satchels, for the same price.
And both be available after like T3, I guess?
I also don't think that a Lend Lease variant has to differ since we, Russians, didn't really use any of that West stuff for long because of climatic and technological differences (In the USSR quality means it's easy to repair, and that West stuff wasn't, it was meant to work forever).

Just an idea.

What about Soviet mortar? It has good range, nice flare, but very bad performance vs pretty much anything!

It's really easy to get 2 of them as the Soviets, and 2 of them do work really good because of range, and damage they put out together, also, again, flares.

2 of everything always works well, multiplicative effect will make even weaksauce unit look good(doesn't mean the unit isn't weak tho), that's why blobs exist and that really isn't an argument.

Well, it is YOU who compared it to FUCKING PERSHING while completely ignoring AoE difference, which can not be ignored if you want to pull a firecracker accuracy in comparison to mininuke accuracy.

You see, T-70 NEEDs to HIT while pershing not.

Its not bad anymore because all mortars where brought down to the sov level rof wise. Did you notice how the use of esp the ost mortar drasticly dropped?

The only real issue i got with it is the high cost for the flare. A certain faction gets them free via traps or very cheap and a lot at once.

? u mean the one that can only be used on points and needs a set up time, not like the mortar ones which are instant ranged and don't need a doc ?

what game are YOU playing? by the time T70 comes out you have mines and ATs and snares, and t70 has awful accuracy, 90% of times it will shoot barrels/bushes/fences or any other crap that maps have.

and if axis just hold on a little you can get a Pz4/ostwind not long after while soviet will have nothing to counter it for a long time.

t70 is good, but is it nowhere this "death machine" you guys keep picturing, they are highly RNG dependent and needs to be used carefully or you end up 70 fuel behind and with a lot less firepower than axis.

If you compare 2 units to a blob and say it's the same you really have problems with your brain, you know?

I understand that you wanted to say that I can say that any shitty unit is good in numbers, but it's a mortar in a Soviet faction, it's like a Maxim, it's used in offense, so multiple, the best number is 2, pieces are required for a better push on the same side or holding several of them, that's what I tried to say, so don't compare it to a blob or anything, makes you look dumb.

What?

AEC does both anti vehicle and anti infantry damage reliably, but is better at dealing anti vehicle damage. Whereas a Puma is purely designed as an anti vehicle specialist with little to no anti infantry capabilities.
