Call In tanks are stupid, it was stupid before and it still stupid. Ignore tech and call in is way more efficient than techs to a normal tank. It's better when you are winning and it's better when you are losing. When you are winning you can farm CPs very fast, when you are losing you don't have fuel anyways so it's better to call in than lose fuel in tech.

USF - Tech + Sherman = Pershing
Soviets - Tech + T-34 = IS2 + 40f = ISU + 70f
Wehr - Tech + PanzerIV = Tiger (kinda)
