Not sure how this works, had a P4 vet 5 OKW at point blank range to an IS2 and missed six times.... It's this sort of stats which puts me off the game surely at Vet 5 the crew would be better than that.

Hit chance is accuracy multiplied with target size. Missing at close range is unlikely, but possible. Repeatedly missing is therefore even more unlikely, but still possible.

Point blank accuracy of vet 5 p4: 0,063
Target size of IS2: 26
(Cruzzi's dps chart)

Hit chance while standing still: 26*0,063*100 = 163,8%
Hit chance while moving: 26*0,063*0,5*100 = 81,9%

Scatter shots have a pretty high chance to hit at point blank range, so it would probably bring the hit chance while moving up to 90%+.

I'd probably buy a lottery ticket if I were you. Or just quickly halt your tank before shooting..

I think he means bounce instead of miss. It's only about 33% chance to pen, so getting that, while unlucky, is still conceivable.

Bad luck is common in this game, since the game is long and contains so many engagements, and many of us have played the game hundreds or thousands of times. I've had my Tiger deflect a T34-76 with rear armour twice in a row to escape death. Conversely, I've also had my Panther bounce front of KV1 twice in a row while getting penned by the KV1 3 out of 4 shots from the front.

Sucks to experience bad rng, but honestly the P4 is a truly terrible choice for fighting the IS2 anyway.

Try playing in cheatmode and put an invinicible tank on hold fire and let another tank fire on it. It's quite a revelation when you note how often the tank get penned and how often it deflects. It's not as balanced as you think. I most often saw the tank being penetrated 10 times in a row, then the shots bouncing 5 times in a row. It's almost like bad luck does come in streaks.

When you just happen to be in that bouncing streak, then that's very unfortunate, but it's part of an RNG-based game. Eventually everything evens out to the proper percentages, if necessary in another match. The only thing you can do against "bad luck" is to always prepare for the worst, by, for example, going overkill.

My experience :foreveralone:

That's a really awesome clip. I love how Price calls you lucky after your 4 misses and 17 bounces out of 19 shots.

Are you sure the rounds weren’t bouncing? A few allied tanks have armor too.

In all seriousness, the actual probability of it missing 6 times in a row are literally fractions (we’re talking like billionths) of a percent according to the stats derby gave, so it was probably bouncing off the armor. You might wanna check that replay again if you’ve got it, and don’t fight an IS2 with a p4 lol.
