In am effort to remain objective (even as an axis fanboy), I expect the buff and cost reduction to the 222 will create a serious early game power spike.

The armour upgrade will improve AI capabilities as small arms fire is going to be less effective. The cost decrease will allow the 222 to make more reckless attemps to dive allied light vehicles. Two 222s, as is, will eviscerate any light allied armour if it can get rear armour.

it's an attempt to return to the 444/666 strat for the axis.

for a short while the axis 222 was extremely cost effective as anti-vehicle unit, but then their anti-infantry power was buffed and cost raised.

This also mean the 222 lost their cost effectiveness as anti-vehicle unit.

I don't see this happening. The limiting factor is fuel not MP. If the 222 was 250 mp and 15 fuel, we would see the spam for sure. As long as it costs 30 f, there will be no spam. The extra micro, repairs and mp it costs to get 444 vs one allied light makes it a risky build order to get as it's harder to micro 2 lights compared to one, especially when they go down to one and a half at gun shots unlike allied lights and are not bulletproof though the armor buff helps.

The 222 was a bit under performing but both an armour buff AMD being cheaper is a bit much. Makes me think that mgs and especially 50 cals need a pen increase (the ones on vehicles like the greyhound and m20) to set them better apart. Even if its as a munition ability

222 makes only sense on open maps without to many blockers...because this thing dance around a stonefence like a authist and two of them will block themself and cant both turn backwards while togehter...they block their own way and dont want to drive the way the came...

Objects are what makes the 222 strong in the first place.
If you shoot a unit in front of a blocker, it will make a huge amount of additional damage because the shots will stop at the wall and the splash damage will be applied way better.

I hope we will see a return of the 222 as it used to be in Coh1. It could be used to actually engage blobs and snipe a model here and there. Currently I feel it lacks a certain purpose and cant really stand its ground.

I understand that people are sceptic about the new 222 though. The thing that really worries me is the lack of Brits snares against it.

CoH1 222 had completely different dynamics and role.
Plus, it couldn't engage any light vehicle heavier then a jeep at all.
It was within a faction that did not even had a proper med tank.
That 222 is never coming back.

222 needs to have its veterancy look at or the gun should be changed into an accuracy one. It uses an AOE gun but gain accuracy on main gun which is not helpful at all.

In addition the different mechanics between the 222, luch and Centaur only complicates things without actually creating better balance.

This weapon should have similar mechanics

Finally armored car like AEC Puma and 222 need to have their movement modifiers changed their speed on road needs to go down and their speed on yellow needs to go up.

There huge difference is modifier makes this unit perform inconstant in the duration of the game as the battlefield becomes a yellow cover.

222 have also coax, which receives +15% accuracy with every vet star.

This buff is certainly gonna be problematic, but it deserves something.
Maybe there should be a free unlock for it in T2 that would cost nothing but take quite some time to research, because if the change goes live, its gonna hit the field long before any counters have a chance to arrive.

Brits being ridiculously defenseles against LVs, assuming they dont get piats or the AT sections is a whole other problem

Just do what ostheer does when facing an LV:

Build AT.

And all your problems will go away.

id like to see small durability increase yes, but making it cheaper is just asking for issues.

Didn't it use to be 180? 250 is absolutely ridiculous.

Years ago, when it had 200 hp and much weaker weapons.
250 is perfectly reasonable for what you get, compared to M20, which costs 320 and can't engage literally all targets.

200 is reasonable since Ostheer is manpower strained and you need 2 222's to fight other LV's.

The limiting factor is fuel, 60 fuel isn't cheap and 90 fuel is of the charts for what you get.

The actual controversy here is cost reduction and 50% armor buff.
One or the other, lets not get back to relic style overbuffing and overnerfing, usually leaving unit in the latter state.

Was it up to me, I'd left the cost where it is, gave it 2 additional armor and buffed MG34 as despite 34 scaling really well, its base dps is similar to that of AEC or puma coax.

It´s kind of rediculous that M20 will remain at 320 MP while 222 will cost 200MP...How is that fair?
