I've been wondering what the difference is between the BAR and a rifle squads standard rifles.
Are rifles more accurate at long distances, while BARs do more damage up close?

Weapon upgrades >>> Stock weapons.
BAR been AR (assault Rifles) are better at close-mid range but still way better than bolt/semi auto rifles at long range.
While there might be a few cases on which upgrade weapons proves to be a disadvantage at some range, that's minimal or not worth noticed.
OH: LMG42, G43 (exception been PG), STG
OKW: STG, G43, LMG34, IR STG
USF: Bar, 1919, Thompsons
SU: DPs, PPSH,
UKF: Brens, Vickers

BARS always a must on rifles.
But I've noticed so many bad players putting bazookas on rifles lately.

BARs are also more powerful on the move than the M1 garand. 0.7 to 0.6 moving accuracy debuff respectivly. This encourages big BAR blobs unfortunatly.

Is it always that bad?
They are the ones with the AT nade after all, I do it sometimes when I got a spare squad or one that isn't gonna hit vet3 for Double BAR, it makes them good at ambushing armor from sight blockers!

Put zooks on RETs. They have low accuracy but tanks are pretty hard to miss.

Bazookas miss a lot regardless, in my experience.

Zooks are usually better on REs, though you might be able to reverse it with Rifle Co. due to sprint on Rifles and flamers + smoke support as your core

I equip my RE and a RM squad with dual zook if I see a Luch or various 222s. Good OKW players aren't going to let their Luch die vs a single RE zook squad. Imo it is better to have one less RM BAR/M1919 squad and build an extra HMG.50 to compensate the lack of IA power.
Then if I go T2, I can dual equip zook or BARs on the captain, it depends of my need.
